oh wow thats weird to me...blow has been a name for coke etc. in america since before i was born... but hey lets end that conversation..about meditating.. i get your point but it isnt the same for everyone...peace peter
Greetings, Im actually doing an essay for my Hindu/ Buddhist class on the use of psychedelics in the West, compared to the use in the East... Cant wait to actaully get deep into the subject. I just started researching it, but I am using that book, the art is beautiful in it... Peace and Love, Jon
Wouldn't it be funny if someone saw the post saying "blow" to mean herb and then did some blow and tried to meditate? heehee "duuuude, it's not working, my eyes won't close, my legs won't cross, I can't stop talking, blah blah blah blah" But seriously, don't assume you know the effects of a drug just because you use it a lot, every person reacts to every drug differently. Personally, I find marijuana useful for opening up my mind to different ideas, challening my assumptions, thinking creatively, etc. but NOT for meditation. It makes my inner monologue more varied interesting and benefitial ( a sort of "self-psychotherapy" if you will) but it makes it very difficult to stop it, which to me is a key element of meditation...moving beyond the ego and the "self". For other people, this might be different, so don't make too many assumptions.
i find that it actually helps me meditate.. btw, please don't say marijuana is drugs.. just cause it's not.. it's a beautiful plant made from nature
I still smoke pot myself... I do not consider it conducive to my yoga though - I do not consider it a vice either - It is simply where I am now. And I am ok with it. Even the clouds are divine my friend. Does that make sense? Basically I am agreeing with everyone and I see it both ways. . .
Ok Cannibis Sativa is a "plant from nature" - you smoke it for no other reason than to experience the effects of Tetrahyrdocannibinol. This is a drug - it suppresses neural impulses in the central nervous system. If you are telling me THC is not a drug then you ARE deluded. Sebbi
You all have resorted to name calling and blame based on different interpretations of what the abstract symbol's "d-r-u-g-s" mean. Neither of you are helping yourselves. Neither are better or worse than the other. The essence of what you are speaking is the same that causes the argument in the first place. By putting judgement and lables such as "good" / "bad" or "deluded" / "retarded" - we disconnect from that which we all came. We enter into maya, or illusion. This is not the aim or practice of the yogi. Would you agree or disagree? (trick question!) hehe
I have meditated on pot before. It was wonderful. I had visions. I created art of it afterwards. Some of my favorite art.
honestly i do care of peoples interpretations of whats right and wrong..and i find that if not schooled by self or mentor you find naturally we all meditate ...in our hearts and mind ... this is the void
it is right for him to think wrong of you - and equally right for you to think wrong of him - all is truth - is this not true?
In the same sense that - even if i tell you a lie - it is the Truth. It is the Truth I told the lie - Even errors are correct. And disagreements are ok for we all grow and change perspectives with time.
well i believe that all of us have our own perseption through our experiance and life in general...i wouldnt say anyone is wrong but ,,,,maybe misled?
Well i love marijuana, and i like to meditate, but I've never tried them at the same time. I don't know if it would work for me during meditation because smoking it makes me think to much.
dude, smokin pot puts you in the begining meditative state, smoking and then meditating is like getting a head start on that current meditation GO smoke sum bud and listen to cypress hill, U2, Pheonix, Nico,REM, etc and i swear youll get to know ur self much more
