A wise man can understand an idea without accepting it. You would do so to understand perspective and I guess for me also to laugh at ignorance a bit. A day needs a nice chuckle.
COLUMBUS SAILED AROUND THE WORLD IN 1492 AND FOUND IT ISNT FLAT!!!!! (He found the new world) This whole thing is insane!!!!!!
Then he would have arrived in India (his actual destination ), instead we have called the people in the 'new world' indians for centuries. Lol Thanks Chris!
There Is Positive Proof The Earth Is Not Flat.......Anybody Who Has Ever Lived With A Cat Knows That If It Was Flat Cat's Would Have Knocked Everything Off The Edge By Now...... Cheers Glen.
but what if it doesn't have an edge? if it were really flat and went on forever in the x and y directions, you could get on a train and ride it forever and never see the same place twice. neven's ring world would be almost as good, or a dyson solar system even better. too bad this earth ain't any of them.
That's interesting you mention that because when you look at a world map of all the international flights, they only move Horizontal, vertical and diagonal. No airplane goes "around" the world.
You have just answered a question that has always puzzled me. Someone asked that question back in my school days. The teacher told him not to ask stupid questions.
You know what's something I struggle to fathom, when they show pictures of our solar system and you have all the debris that never formed on the outskirts, well it's always depicted as like a ring around the solar system, like the rings of Saturn. But I just have a touch time trying to visualise it like that. So when I think we can get out of our solar system and fly somewhere else well in the movies all these meteorites are swarming around, but in all the pics it just looks like you could go over them, or under them? Do they really just go around the solar system on the same axis?
There are some seriously uneducated people if they are thinking that the world is flat when it appears to be global
They're part of the solar system so i think yes, as long as they stay in their orbital trajectory around the sun. But a spacecraft aimed to leave the solar system would likely go up or under (technically there's neither in space but from our POV from earth/how we portray the solar system), not stay in the 'flatness' of the solar system.
The flat-Earth conspiracy is spreading around the globe. Does it hide a darker core? - CNN … Um. Just off the top of my head, wouldn't flying to certain countries or nautical circumnavigation be a little bit hard to explain?? I'm guessing that the pilots and captains of vessels would be in on it in such cases.
