    I have smoked Salvia Divinorum several times now in extract form, and I find it to produce one of the most bizarre experiences imaginable.

    For as intense and utterly strange of an experience as the Salvia experience is, it is surprisingly much easier to handle than many other psychedelics... at least for me it is. It might have to do with the degree in which the ego seperates from the physical body, coupled with the short duration of the plant's effects -- even though Salvia sometimes erodes ones sense of time altogether, causing the person to feel like they've lived an entire lifetime within the space of the 10-20 minute trip. This is another one of the plant's bizarre and mystifying effects.

    Salvia basically causes one to leave their body and current reality and enter other dimensions, whether real or imagined. At least this is the way I interpret it. Usually, I feel as though I am making telepathic connections with other spiritual beings as I travel at lighting speed amidst the vast swaths of cosmic energy and endless information which lead to these other realities.

    On a couple of my Salvia excursions I became part of inanimate objects, but not those that were surrounding me, which I was completely unaware of and detached from. I would smoke the Salvia extract and within a minute or two I would be instantly transported from this life to another life and another time. Sometimes another realm or dimension altogether.

    Once, on a Salvia trip, I was the bark of a tree lining a quaint suburban street. But this wasn't a suburban street as we known them today. It appeared to be set back in the 1950's, as the houses, the cars parked in the driveways, and the people walking down the street showed. It wasn't any place I had been to before. I am absolutely certain of that.

    On a more recent Salvia excursion I found myself to be the paint on a wall in the family room of a small house. This time it appeared to be set in either the late 70's or early 80's. I could tell not only by the clothes and the hairstyles the mother and daughter standing in the adjacent kitchen were sporting, but the appliances and general decor of the house. The television was clearly a late 60's/early 70's model, and the furniture and carpet were clearly indicitive of the 70's. The predominate colors were brown and tan.

    I am not the only person to have experiences like this with Salvia. Many people who have used Salvia report vivid visions from their early childhood, or visiting places they have never seen or been in their lives.

    Some places even appear to not be of this world, as I have also experienced many times.

    This really makes one wonder about the true nature of our existence and what we call "reality." How does a simple plant create such a complex and mind-warping experience, while many people report similar experiences, all seemingly completely vivid and real but beyond logical explanation?

    You have to wonder if certain drugs like Ayahuasca and Salvia don't actually open portals within the mind to different realities and times that cannot normally be accessed in our regular conscious state. It sounds crazy, but I know I am not the first to ponder such a thing.

    And if you think this sounds crazy, you've never used Salvia.... at least not the right way.

    i think this is an interesting point. maybe the Salvia world is real. it certainly seems real when you're there. to me, it doesn't feel like a 'drug,' more like an alteration (a huge alteration) of reality. but not necessarily a distortion.

    I have had those
    all the constructs are very real,
    the color combinations are smart and perfect;
    the sense of rightness or wrongness is enhanced to the degree that this normal world is a thin veil in comparison.

    all of the extensions and superlatives which come to mind correspond to what I have said before:

    entheogen causes sensations (include thoughts/memories) to fade more slowly; in turn causing composite and layered realities to stack up: richer colors-bigger spaces, trails, multiple selves, lingering sensations, synasthesia (feeling stuck in a taste or in a wall, or pinned by a sound), time dilation, time contractions (including deja vu as one emerges quickly from regarding an unfaded lingering layer).

    all of those are from greater resonance induced by entheogen forcing mental contents to linger longer.

    personally I find it very useful, otherwise, life would be too fast and efficient.
