Doing a college proj and wuld lik ur opinions on other subcultural groups.PLEASE HELP

Hey guys, im doin a college project on 'the presentation of identity of subcultural groups' and i need your help.I want to know what your opinions are of people from other subcultural groups.Here are the groups that i am investigating:

Chavs, Goths, Surfers, Geeks, Punks, Skaters and Hippies.
Please tell me any opinions that you have on any of the above other than yourself. What you write will be quoted in my essay, but please help me- the geeks are being really horrible to me.

Hmmm....

Chavs as a rule are vile, illiterate, stupid, inbred moronic wastes of space.

Goths, wow they're SO alternative. Still better then emo kids

Surfers, i'm a surfer and we RULE.

Geeks, hmmm geeks as a rule bug me especially ones who play online games 24/7 w.g runescape but they can be useful when it comes to computers...

Punks, old school punks rule but the new breed of so called punk rock kids (emo) are cliched disgraces to music

Skaters, the ones i know bug the hell out of me by being arrogant and annoying

Hippies, who doesn't love hippies?! They have the right idea about everything! Peace, love and rock 'n' roll man

What are "chavs" haha, sorry, I have no idea what kind of stereotype this word defines....

You should start of by looking for the exact definitions of what these words mean, it'll give you a good base, then imagine questions that are subtle.
You'll get more helpful answers than with simply asking "what d'ya think" lol...

Chavs- What?

Goths- The ones who cut themselves because they say their life sucks and yadda yadda can go suck a dick. But the ones who have more... morals, are the cool ones.

Surfers- They do nothing but surf. and when their not surfing. their thinking about surfing.

Geeks- Computers, Electronics, Games, Strategy... They know all these things.

Punks- The new age punks piss me off like no other. YEA! good charlotte YEA!.(fucking emo peices of shit.)

Skaters- are some pretty cool as people. (if you know them.) And then, some are just assholes period.

Hippies- There's absolutely nothing bad to say about hippies. I cant think of one got damn thing. Peace, Love, Music, It all sounds good to me.

 

chavs - follow each other and are extremely unpleasant. however, there is no reason to hate them. one of my best friends, clairey, is with that crowd and fits in rather well. a lot of them are great people

goths - go on about their individuality, though they all wear black, all wear white makeup with black eyeliner etc., pretend to be depressed and so on. pretentious is a good word for them. though, again, i have friends under this category

surfers - being a city person, i know very few. i have an ex-girlfriend who had moved up from down south who was a great surfer. she was lovely, but i can't judge what a cliched surfer is like, having only met one: jenny greenee

geeks - they are true individuals. they REALLY don't fit in. they do nothing to try being cool, they just do what they enjoy, but its not their fault that modern culture frowns upon them for being so involved with computers. one of my best friends, doodlebug plays a lot of games, and talks a lot about them. geeky but a great friend

punks - tie in with chavs really. they can be unnecessarilly violent and unpleasant, but can be brilliant friends if you know the right ones.

skaters - i know a LOT of skaters, but they just want to have fun! they're refined to themselves on the whole, as long as noone disturbs them as they try to master that trick. i'm no good at skating, having tried for a while in the past, and its fun and doesn't hurt anyone but yourself.

hippies - i know hippies! yes, i do. hippies are individual, though most have the same basic idealogies: peace, love etc. i can't say much bad about them.

goths- a little bit depressing, especially when they're just the former general rejects
transformed into gothic rejects so they fit in.

surfers-are a lot braver than i. and, though i've only met a few, are pretty cool people.

geeks-cool, in there own little way. mean geeks who are snotty about their knowledge piss me off, only becasue i am a geek underneath it all and thus know just as much as they do.

punks-whiney little upper middle class suburban punks are the occasional pain in my ass at school. they're way to good for contact with us normal folk you know, and they love to put down normal society as a whole.

skaters-are losers, usually. they discuss things no one else cares about, they're mini-emos usually, and they all wear the same clothes.

hippies-well, what can i say? unfairly stereotyped to be sure, and copied endlessly. upper middle class suburban hippies around here are really eliteist and mean ( go figure)

 

I love how hippies are "unfairly" stereotyped but skaters "are losers"

 

A chav is someone who walks around really cocky, with no education thinking they are cool basically. they wear white clothing usually addidas, umbro,etc. mainly popper trousers(track suits), tacky gold jewellery and baseball caps.There fav designer clothes are burberry.There another name for a townie if you understand what they are. i dont label people in this way i might add, but most other people do. A celebrity chav is Dizzie Rascal if that helps any more.
