Once again factually inaccurate bullshit !!!

PFI was developed by the scumbag 'nasty party' long before Tony Blair became premier !!!

From the very link you just gave:

"The use of PFI was very limited until 1997 but became widespread under the New Labour government.[11]

Two months after New Labour took office, the Health Secretary, Alan Milburn, announced that "when there is a limited amount of public-sector capital available, as there is, it's PFI or bust".[10] PFI expanded considerably in 1996 and then expanded much further under New Labour with the NHS (Private Finance) Act 1997,[12] resulting in criticism from many trade unions, elements of the New Labour Party, the Scottish National Party (SNP), and the Green Party,[13] as well as commentators such as George Monbiot. Proponents of the PFI include the World Bank, IMF and (in the UK) the CBI.[14]"

Being somewhat economical with the truth aren't we ??? - I've highlighted the the most important phrase, and for your information, not only did the scumbag 'nasty party' invent PFI, but when the system was 'expanded' in 1996, that was also under the scumbag 'nasty party's' government !!! Bliar merely adopted the system and expanded it further, notwithstanding there was bitter protests about it !!!

I was thinking about making a separate thread about storing waste in space (lifeless planets) or getting rid of it in a similar way as in that vid (since we already expanded it a few pages in this thread)!

It could miss and in the worst scenario hit earth half a year later :p

But for real: unless it would miss what could go wrong? It's an enormous radioactive ball of fire. It could likely even take our nuclear waste without consequences (same with storing it in a sealed bunker on a lifeless planet). See, this topic can use its own thread :-D

    ...And if it didn't?

  16. I don't think that's an orangutan. I think it's just a guy who is falling off the tree.

If that risk appears real in advance we shouldn't do it. But I suspect if we can land a device on a moving asteroid now, steering trash into the sun isn't that much of a challenge in the (hopefully near) future. We do need a reliable way of transport of course. Just saying, hypothetically it isn't such a crazy option at all

You are not getting my argument at all.

I'm sure we can build something that can accurately hit the sun... We could even load it full of crap we don't want anymore. What we don't know is what this would do to the sun and as a result, what it would do to the solar system, including the earth.

"Oh... It will just burn up with no further repercussions" Is not guaranteed.

It is all well and good, but everyone who goes to these demos should take a look at his own nose! The young people demonstrate for more environmental protection, but then fly themselves on vacation or drive with their mopeds through the area.
