But the current healthcare system is expected to cost $45 trillion in ten years by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Bernie's plan saves $15 billion. Currently the cost of healthcare is borne by individuals and companies. Single payer would eliminate the cost to ordinary people and companies and spread the burden out over the entire system meaning those that can afford to pay higher taxes will bear a more proportional cost of healthcare while those that can least afford decent care will now receive the same coverage as the wealthy at no additional cost as they no longer need to pay high premiums. Additionally companies no longer need to pay for employee healthcare allowing for higher profits and higher wages to their employees. Single payer doesn't add any cost, it just shifts the cost to a broader base. Assuming taxes are reinstated on the rich, the middle and poor classes, who can least afford healthcare, benefit.
Oh! But Bernie is smarter than Trump. I think Bernie is right on the numbers. If Trump was smart, the Mexicans would be paying for that stupid wall of his. I understand the Mexicans have already started to cut parts off so they can sell the steel down at the scrap yard. Even the Mexicans are smarter than Trump.
Poll: Half of voters have already decided against Trump in 2020 Trump needs nearly all of the “depends on the [Democratic] nominee” vote to win the popular vote in 2020. By Dante Chinni Nov. 3, 2019, 9:14 AM EST Half of voters have already decided against Trump in 2020 "WASHINGTON — A year out from the 2020 Election Day, there are some tough numbers for President Donald Trump in the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. The data suggest the pathway to re-election is currently very narrow with little margin for error for the president. Overall, nearly half of all registered voters say they have already decided they will not vote for Trump next November, regardless of who the Democratic nominee is. The poll finds 46 percent of registered voters say they are “certain to vote against Trump” in 2020. A far smaller number, 34 percent, say they are “certain to vote for Trump.” And 17 percent say they might vote for or against Trump depending on whom the Democrats nominate for president."

Reagan's Iran-Contra affair is an example of a shadow government manipulating U.S. government money to circumvent Congress. Reagan's ploy could be considered a maneuver to promote a particular national policy, whereas Trump's Ukraine phone call was to promote his personal political gain over a campaign rival under the guise of fighting general corruption. Iran–Contra affair From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Iran–Contra affair - Wikipedia excerpt: "The affair was investigated by the U.S. Congress and by the three-person, Reagan-appointed Tower Commission. Neither investigation found evidence that President Reagan himself knew of the extent of the multiple programs.[3][4][7] In the end, fourteen administration officials were indicted, including then-Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger. Eleven convictions resulted, some of which were vacated on appeal.[12] The rest of those indicted or convicted were all pardoned in the final days of the presidency of George H. W. Bush, who had been Vice President at the time of the affair.[13]"
Some of the TV evangelists used the Iran-Contra scandal to promote their own interest, siding with people like Oliver North as victims. One TV evangelist called upon his viewers to donate money to his ministry to help fight what he claimed was the terrible injustice being leveled against Oliver North. North was known for staying silent during the Congressional hearings by invoking 5th Amendment rights. SNL spoofed the scandal in a sketch with William Shatner playing Oliver North. A group of military officials were standing behind him on stage singing the tune The Green Berets but with the title and lyrics altered to The Mute Marine while Shatner stood in front of them quiet the whole time. The sketch had a bouncing ball going through the lyrics captioned on the bottom of the screen. "He traded arms, to Iran; for hostages, what a great plan! We'll never know, just what he's seen; The man they call, the mute marine."

Trump’s spiritual adviser seeks his protection from ‘demonic networks’ at reelection rally By Meagan Flynn June 19, 2019 at 7:10 AM EDT https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...-donald-trump-orlando-rally-demonic-networks/ excerpt: "White, President Trump’s evangelical spiritual adviser, took center stage Tuesday night to give the opening prayer before the president announced his bid for reelection in front of thousands of supporters at the Amway Center in Orlando. She asked the crowd to join hands, and after a few minutes, interrupted her prayer to speak to the crowd instead of God, like an actress breaking the fourth wall. “Now, I need you to really go with me here,” she said to a cheering crowd. “Right now, let every demonic network who has aligned itself against the purpose, against the calling of President Trump, let it be broken, let it be torn down in the name of Jesus!” she prayed. She added: “I declare that President Trump will overcome every strategy from hell and every strategy from the enemy — every strategy — and he will fulfill his calling and his destiny.”"
China may impose $3.58 billion in annual trade sanctions on U.S.: WTO panel Reuters November 1, 2019 China may impose $3.58 billion in annual trade sanctions on U.S.: WTO panel excerpt: "GENEVA (Reuters) - A World Trade Organization (WTO) panel said on Friday that China was entitled to slap compensatory sanctions on U.S. imports worth $3.579 billion annually for the U.S. failure to remove anti-dumping duties - roughly half the amount China had sought. The decision came as the world's two biggest economies try to clinch Phase 1 of a trade deal. President Donald Trump and U.S. negotiators are "very optimistic" about concluding it, White House adviser Larry Kudlow said. In the WTO ruling, a three-member arbitration panel said Chinese exporters suffered impairment to trade valued at $3.579 billion annually. China may now ask the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body for a green light to impose the retaliatory tariffs on imported U.S. goods valued up to that amount each year."

Trump threatens to cut off federal funding for California wildfires By Elizabeth Thomas Nov 3, 2019, 1:04 PM ET Trump threatens to cut off federal funding for California wildfires excerpt: "Although the president has a history of casting blame on California officials, most of California's forests are owned and managed by federal agencies. Federal agencies manage 57 percent of the approximately 33 million acres of forest in the state, according to research done by the University of California. The president also tweeted Sunday morning that California "desperately needs water." However, drought maps show that during this time California is not in desperate need of water as Trump suggested and that drought is not playing a role in the wildfires."

Female astronauts schooled Trump from outer space By Ephrat Livni October 20, 2019 Female astronauts schooled Trump from outer space excerpts: ""This is the first time for a woman outside of the space station,” Donald Trump said incorrectly, ignoring the work of Svetlana Savitskaya, a Russian astronaut who spacewalked in 1984, and the 14 women (including ones from NASA) who followed her." "In any case, Koch didn’t correct the president’s error. Instead it was Meir who schooled the president over the phone when he tried to compliment the astronauts and again got the import of their work and the event wrong. “You are amazing people,” he said. “They’re conducting the first-ever female spacewalk to replace an exterior part of the space station. They’re doing some work, and they’re doing it in a very high altitude—an altitude that very few people will ever see.” Meir gently deflected the compliment, telling Trump, “We don’t want to take too much credit because there have been many other female spacewalkers before. This is the first time that there’s been two women outside at the same time.”"
