"WASHINGTON — A year out from the 2020 Election Day, there are some tough numbers for President Donald Trump in the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. The data suggest the pathway to re-election is currently very narrow with little margin for error for the president.

Overall, nearly half of all registered voters say they have already decided they will not vote for Trump next November, regardless of who the Democratic nominee is.

The poll finds 46 percent of registered voters say they are “certain to vote against Trump” in 2020. A far smaller number, 34 percent, say they are “certain to vote for Trump.” And 17 percent say they might vote for or against Trump depending on whom the Democrats nominate for president."

Reagan's Iran-Contra affair is an example of a shadow government manipulating U.S. government money to circumvent Congress. Reagan's ploy could be considered a maneuver to promote a particular national policy, whereas Trump's Ukraine phone call was to promote his personal political gain over a campaign rival under the guise of fighting general corruption.

Some of the TV evangelists used the Iran-Contra scandal to promote their own interest, siding with people like Oliver North as victims. One TV evangelist called upon his viewers to donate money to his ministry to help fight what he claimed was the terrible injustice being leveled against Oliver North.

North was known for staying silent during the Congressional hearings by invoking 5th Amendment rights.

SNL spoofed the scandal in a sketch with William Shatner playing Oliver North. A group of military officials were standing behind him on stage singing the tune The Green Berets but with the title and lyrics altered to The Mute Marine while Shatner stood in front of them quiet the whole time. The sketch had a bouncing ball going through the lyrics captioned on the bottom of the screen. "He traded arms, to Iran; for hostages, what a great plan! We'll never know, just what he's seen; The man they call, the mute marine."

Trump is once again blaming forest fires on officials not raking leaves and mistakenty blaming the 2011-2017 drought.
