I had my first experience with oral sex Saturday. Amazing sex.
January I got on Depo, first time and I'm 17. I've spotted lightly for 2 weeks now, some days heavier than others.
I started bleeding while he was fingering me and going down on me.
Kind of embarrased, not really, just curious as to why!
I dont usually bleed havily lately, just a spot. I think my body is still adjusting, it's only been about a month.
    Common, yes or no?
And, should I freak out about the bleeding thing during sex? It wasn't a total big deal, it just got me annoyed that I was bleeding when I was suppose to be enjoying my first oral sex! Would yall worry about that? I just don't want to have to abstain from oral because I may possibly get bleedy while he's down there!:H

Did your partner freak out that you were bleeding? Did he seem like he didn't like it but didn't want to freak you out? If he's cool with it, why should it bother you? If he disliked it, then you'll have to discuss how to proceed...

As for the depo, never done it, so I can't help ya there.

I would speak with your doctor about the bleeding, and ask him/her how normal he/she feels it is (heck, you could even try to track it, if there seems to be a schedule for how light/heavy it is)

I'm on depo, but I've only spotted once since I started on it a year and some ago, and that was because I was one day late getting my shot done.

Anywho, your partner should hopefully understand that sometimes, your body does odd things beyond your control. Happens to guys too, ie not being able to get hard (either for biological or psychological reasons) so, hopefully he's all awesome about it.

how many times have you had sex? i mean.. you dont have to answer to use but to yourself- could that be part of the answer? if not the med. is new so it will prolly balance out, if that makes any sense. :)

Here's a helpful bit of advice I found from my dr.s office........
Right after I was on depo, I didn't spot, but I bled for a damn month & a half before it stopped, it took a week break & it started all over again. Anyway, I asked the doctor anout this. & she said whenever that happens, to take 600 miligrams of ibuprofen every 6 hours, til it ceases. I do this every time, I even spot. & it works everytime : )

you can bleed a little or a lot right after your body tries to get adjusted to depo. I still spot every once and a while, especially during sex, but that may be because I'm tight. Your body can do a number of things on depo. Write down each day how much you bleed and when and give that info to your doc.

it may stop soon, it may not. I think you should go elsewhere online and get info on the depo shot. I'm surprised you didn't know that already.

Many womyn spot on Depo, I doubt it was the sex which caused it (unless it was one of your first times, and then it would be understandable) The blood won't hurt your man, if he doesn't mind.

Some ladies take months to adjust to Depo, some never do. I never had a period OR spotting after I had the shot, and I didn't for six months after I had the last shot.

Most doctors simply do NOT give people a lot of info about these drugs.

I am glad you are being responsible about your fertility. You will have to decide, after your first 12 weeks with Depo, if it is the method that is best for you.

I'm not trying to be nasty to these girls at all, but I"m so surprised that they don't know this info. Depo is such a testy BC method, that I find it hard to beleive docs don't go through everything throughorly.

I advise every one of you girls to protect yourself the best you can and ASK QUESTIONS!! Ask everything you can.

It's the doc's fault for not tellling these girls everything they should know. Get all the info you can get your hands on.

I actually found the net to be a pretty good resource, in terms of potential side affects (ok, more short-term than long-term, but still). There are some horror stories, and some great stories out there, but at least it lets you know how wrong it can go. It does kinda make me wonder why some women react so well to it, and others so badly. I love my depo, but my mom's friend (who went on it to treat endometriosis) swears it's the worst drug ever invented.
