the moderators do handle that.... The problem that you are having doesn't concern us as much as it concerns you in regards to the fact that this website does not take into consideration what happens on other websites.... We can't just take your word for it that's not the way it works online....and personally I haven't actually seen this person harass you in any way other than I think she put someone up to asking you for a picture in the chat room that's not against the rules

 

definitely not the real names thing; you would never see me again (which some might consider to be a good argument in favor of real names).

generally the rest is not that different from the current rules. i definitely don't want more rules, if anything i would prefer less. i enjoyed the good old days when personal attacks were generally allowed. i didn't usually post them myself, but it was fun to read anyway. as far as i'm concerned, spam and illegal activities should be the only things not allowed.

 

What about pot smoking? Still against federal law in the US.

We get it: orange man bad but a lot of us motherfukers come here to have fun, not to get into your political rants..

 

i don't know that i have a problem with people confessing their crimes here. i don't think that could get the website into any trouble. the issue i'm aware of is the occasional person who comes on here trying to sell or buy illegal drugs, which i believe could actually get the site into legal trouble.

I also think more personal attacks should be allowed. The way it is, it's hard to know what anyone is really like. I like it when things are personal. The rules are too formal right now, and it kind of grays out people's personalities.

 

I think the old adage "the government which governs least, governs best" seems to apply to hipforums. While I do love HF, this place has become slowly more restrictive over the years, and you can see its effect on membership and activity.

 

Didn't you make a thread not so long ago about how you didn't think it was nice that you were personally attacked?

 

Even sex becomes predictable and boring, when too many rules are applied.

 

Maybe someone could start a thread specifically for the purpose of irrationally attacking one another. I mean take the gloves off and have at it.

 

Sherdog has a "no holds barred" forum.

 

Then it becomes a thing where you have to try and fight, though. I like it when real arguments get heated. I used to be on a site that had a board called "Flamewar" just for people to fight in, and it was easily the most popular board on the forum.

I just think you have to allow people to get nasty, to some degree. If we all get in a big fight, well, we're either family or we're not. Families fight. It's how they grow. If someone has anger issues, it's up to us to take on the responsibility of confronting this person about it. Though, yes, of course, no trolling.
