I just recently got into phish, actually right after their last concert. I would do anything to see this band but I can't . Apparently they broke up in 2000. Do you think in a year or two they will come back again?
In true rock star fashion, they'll probably get inducted into the rock and roll hall fame, play bouncing around the room at their enshrinement, then stage a farewell tour when they are in their late 50's only Trey will wear a dress instead of fishman In all honesty - if they were to get back together I hope its not for a solid five years - just a lot of clashing egos in that band that had made things a struggle at times since about 98'. They may never play again, but if they were too and for it to last awhile again, i think they all need to go their seperate ways for a long time, do their own things and then who knows they might just really miss it, try it out again and find it to be fresh.
They actually broke up at the end of the 2004 summer. They went on a hiatus in 2000, but then came back in...2002(?). Anyway no i do not seeing them get back together. Those guys love and care too much about their music to do something that they are not 100% into, and i do not see them being able to focus there energy on phish like they used too.
yea they broke up in 2004 some friends of mine went, but i was workin. I dont think it will be back. I read an interview with Trey and he talked about it gettin too big. people in the organization were pullin him in ways he didnt want to go.
they probably wont, ive been seeing them for many years live, before the 2000 hiatus. They dont have the same energy, they want to make different music. Im a phishead and even I dont expect them (even though itd be nice) to come back
they will prolly do another tour at some point, but not for a long long long time, but eventually they will miss how good they had it, they will miss the money too. they may even play a small show here or there under a different name. they did that quite a few times when they were first getting popular and sellin out shows. they would play under different names like the Johnny B Fishman Jazz ensamble or some such, and mail out tickets to long time phish fans, and then word would slowly spread through inner phish circles.
I hope they don't come back... it's better this way. As much as I miss them, I'd rather they not come back...
There's always a chance for anything... but I think people should be praying to whatever dieties they believe in for them to never ever play again.
I think a few of the band members might play a few concerts together but never a whole phish tour again. If the players hearts aren't in it, we can't be selfish and make them play music that doesn't mean anything to them anymore for our pleasure. The want has to be there. If they do play to gether again, there will be a much longer break than before.
