You think? well the town itself is interesting. The Venetian and City of Dreams are spectacular. I would visit them again just to see a concert or look at the interior design. I wonder if its any better in Vegas. The casino area sucks anyway. Well, I don't gamble so..

money is boring. some of the things that can be done with it are fun, but money itself just isn't. tools you can buy with it to make things with. that would be fun. casinos where i live used to be really cheap places to eat really gormet food. that was when gambling was illegal in neighboring states so everyone who want to gambol came here and the taxes paid by casinos paid for the schools and there didn't have to be any state sales tax at all.

but that's all history now. now they're the most expensive places to eat. other places haven't gotten cheaper. the casinos, the few really big ones that have survived, have gotten a lot more expensive, though they try to pretend not to have.

vagas was crap even then, but i live in the north end of the state, which is affordable because everyone is broke so everything is cheap. relatively. except the casinos, which aren't as wonderfully surial as they used to be either.

ow, I'm sorry for you, as it's pity when your favorite game is taken away from you... For example, I prefer casino sites too, especially I prefer playing baccarat, however, unfortunately, gambling became illegal is forbidden, so I'm forced to play online casino... However, thank heave I am able to enjoy playing baccarat on online casino, as this is the single way to continue playing baccarat...

I don't really go to casinos.

The first time I went I was 18 on my 18th. And I got asked to leaved because I placed my rum and coke it would have been, on the Blackjack table. Like, I didn't see anywhere else to place it. And the guy chucked a wobbly at me. And then my wife and some friends started laughing at him until we were booted lol.

    I much prefer sports betting.

Just like alcohol casual gambling is fun, but for people who are susceptible to the intoxicating effect, caution is advised. I had 4 university courses in statistics....I knew I was going to loose in the long run but still I pursued the games to a an intoxicated level. GA works tho.

I'm a roulette and blackjack kinda guy. But it's been so long since my last casino visit, it was in 2006. Me and the girl that I was seeing at the time decided to do a trip to the Baltic ferries, and the boat that we were sailing on had a casino with a roulette table. Wasn't very profitable though, ended up losing about a 100 bucks, and after that I was too afraid to play anymore, for fear of accidentally blowing my whole travel budget. Yeah, it's a nasty game. You win quickly, or you lose quickly. But just as long as you have the chips to spare, it's an exciting atmosphere.

I like video keno. Odds are bad but can play nickel or dime. Can't win much at those stakes, but don't lose much either.

I don't get the point of casinos. I'd rather spend money on a concert, a nice meal out, or some kind of meaningful experience or trip somewhere.

If I'm going to waste money, I at least want to have fun. I want to get something out of it.

that's the other thing that might seem a little strange, other then to eat in their buffettes, which i can't really afford very often, i haven't gamboled in the eight years i've been living here, in a town that was largely built by, for and because of them. and other then the university, the mall and little malls, they're almost the only thing there is here. where any other town would have a shopping district, reno has a casino district instead, and the shopping is all out scattered around the suburban perifery. i'm not attracted to alky either, so they don't have much to attract me, besides some having kind of semi interesting archtecture. and the schools have better. but i do go once a year, because all of the hotels that have convention facilities, are also owned by and part of them. so the convention or two i go to once a year is in one. it was built by the movie company, in what was perhaps a fit of insanity, as the surrounding states had started no longer forbidding commercial gaming. they sold it and it got a name change, but it still has the lion symbols and seems to be quite successful in its own slightly less grand way. and the casino floor, sports book included, is no larger then the area of resteraunts and other concessions. its almost as much of a mall as a casino. including movie house and bowling alley.

but back to gamboling, many years ago, long before my current living here, back when one armed bandits took actual currency, instead of these magstrip 'member' cards like they do now,
that used to be something to do with a pocket full of change when too much had accumulated there. most places didn't have them, but the ones that did, you could play for hours, on nickle, dime and even penny slot machines. i never got into the real gamboling with cards or dice. just the slots and an occasional keno ticket.

but now that there's no machines that take actual real coinage, and i'm just not social enough to be interested in 21 or craps, and sports book doesn't even interest me at all.
i mean the things that interest me, trains, cats, parks, computers, colleges and universities, libraries, science and technology and mystery, some of them may involve money, but it isn't really the point of any of them. money for me has no point in and of itself, other then the inconvenience of never having enough of it for all the tools i would otherwise be able to use to make things.

the whole thing of impressing people, the only thing that impresses me, are how people act and the things they learn how to make.
so the whole casino money thing, is just 'meh'. no creating and exploring equals no gratification equals no point.

we used to have nickle and even penny slots, literally. you could just, when your pockets got too heavy with change, you could always feed them and you never know, you might get twenty or thirty bux back. and they'd just keep paying back almost as much as you paid into them. not on every pull of course, but over a dozen or so, it averaged out so with a pocket full of pennys and nickles, i know it sounds silly, but you just go for hours and hours. all that is gone now. everything is with a plastic magstrip card, you 'join' the casino and you get this card, preloaded with like maybe five or ten bux on it, and you can cash out from it or add cash to it, but all the machines in all the casinos run on that system any more.

no more big coin rooms in the sub sub basements like i worked one semister when i was going to unr. oh the rooms are undoubtedly still there, and they probably still have one or two coin wrapping machines going in them, but no machines accepting actual coins, you know, it not like when even the medium sized ones used to process, count and wrap coins, literally by the tons.

and yes, that's the only way to really 'win' is to own and opperate a casino yourself.
there's a reason casino's make profit, even if the odds were completely even, which some games like 21 come close,
is that sucker think they can win back, so the keep playing when they're loosing, but as soon as they hit a big win, or almost as soon,
they're ready to take the cash and run. so this psychology is built in profit. also why, well i see little point, unless you go in with the idea,
knowing that you probably won't come out ahead, and just walk back out if you don't get anything back on the first three bets,
but when you do win, that's when you keep playing, as long as you're playing on the houses money, until you loose, again three in a row,
then you take what you have or you're just giving it back. and in the meantime, you know, the house isn't loosing anything,
because all the other sucker just keep throwing theirs away anyway.

i read that in a book that was written by someone who did just that, started their own casino and used to be one of the big casino names in this town, before the big casino corporations moved in and took over and all the old guys who had done that were ready to retire anyway, or had already checked out. anyway it always worked for me. but that's all ancient history now.

of course i only know nevada. never been in a casino anywhere else. food is still good in the buffettes, and they're not really exorbitant like super rated resteraunts or anything, but they're just not minyon and caviar and burger prices like they were in the 70s.

  15. The nearest casinos are about thirty miles away. There used to be one on an old steamboat. I played the slot machines a couple of times there. It was pretty sweet, because there were free soft serve ice cream cones. So I just ate tons of ice cream and won money on the slot machines.

That place closed and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino opened. I almost got a job there, but I've never gambled there.

That reminds me of this cruise boat where there was free pizza. And they had a tiny casino. I played roulette. The odds are 50/50 if you bet either red or black. It's like lotto if you pick a number. Well... maybe not like lotto, but it's different odds.

I went to the casino here last night for about an hour last night and walked away quadrupling my money on roulette.

Not a big gambler, just needed to kill an hour at the hotel.

Casino... You can get the same effect by walking out to the street and tossing your money into the air and then going back inside.
