That's breaking the first of the ten commandments: thou shalt have NO other gods before me. Including myself. That's known as idolatry. God's ways are better than mine. I submit to His ways. For my ways are sin and will only lead me to eternal separation from Him.

Moreover, people just want to be their own god. They want to be their own standard of morality not realizing our standard of morality is so pathetically low. Jesus truly does save us from that low standard.

That was all prophesied in scripture. As well, it was like this: God has always been the Father the Son and the Holy spirit. When Jesus became incarnate, it was that they temporarily broke the Godhead to give a path for sinful humanity to be redeemed.

Boy am I glad that happened. Without Jesus, I have NO hope. ZERO, ZIPPO, ZILCH! And Jesus becoming incarnate is completely harmonious with scripture.

It humbles me just a little bit. It also lets me enjoy the way God originally meant us to be. To reap the benefits from the way the earth cleans us out when we connect our feet with it.

Yes, God can use my barefooting to His glory, and I pray that he does.

And I mean this: there is symbolism and parables. Those were not literal. However, it is clear that there was a literal Adam, six literal days of creation, sin is sin, Jesus is Lord, and we can only go to the Father through Him.

It's not but most of us aren't gonna take shots at a guy just because he wants to confess his newfound faith in something. The subsequent shift into conversion sentiments, while telling of one's actual understanding of Jesus and his teachings, is not up to us to jump him on. We can try to speak truth to him with no condemnation however, man.

    @barefootconservative

How many times did Jesus speak before acting in the bible? I suspect the answer to be zero. If correct, is it not a Christian's greatest calling to be as his or her master? If so should the Christian seek not to proselytize by word but by action? Act first in love then the ground, God willing, will be tilled up and ready for the planting of your words.

Both are involved. Jesus performed signs and miracles for sure. But He also spoke truth. A great deal of what we have recorded is not comfortable for people to hear, because it confronts them with their unrighteousness. So doing good deeds as unto him, and speaking the truth are equally as important.

Who's "jumping" on anybody? I'm just saying I don't think this is the proper place for this discussion.

    I remember you. Welcome back.

I see that you've found Christ. Just remember his teachings too: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

Don't become one of those bible thumping fundies, who use the good word as an excuse to judge others. Too many violent acts in this world have already happened in His name, and that's an abomination. God does not need you to defend Him. His will is for you to follow his teachings and do good. Like Jesus did when he healed the cripple and forgave the adulterous woman. That's the standard to follow.

Nice to see that you're still barefoot.

I suppose, this being the internet and intonation being nearly impossible, I can understand how you would perceive that statement to implicitly mean you but I assure you it did not.
Whenever Jesus spoke one of two things always preceded him speaking. Either another asked him, touched him, or otherwise engaged him or he had just finished helping someone. Jesus showed that word without preceding action done in either faith or in love is meaningless.

I am a bible thumper. God's word confronts sin. It still confronts me with my sin. It only seems judgmental because God is not okay with sin, but people love their sin and don't ant to giv it up.

The important thing, as it pertains to this thread, is that you're still barefoot.
    That's wonderful!

I don't believe God believes in sin.

I'm not saying you have to think this. Quite the opposite.
I think you should embrace your newfound relationship with spirituality without assuming you know the black and white of it.
It's arrogant, and arrogance is sinful ; )

Bible does say arrogance is sinful. But sin is sin. God defines sin. Not us
