I would imagine the book being better. I kept thinking of problems with the story in the movie. Like who was skinning the critters and why were the elders commenting on the marks on the doors if they were in on it? But I did think Noah's character was very creepy, he made the movie for me.

I was disappointed with the movie. The story was good but it was lacking something in my opinion.

    Comeplete garbage.

ATTN M. NIGHT SHAMALAN. STOP MAKING THRILLERS WITH A SUPRISE ENDING. TIME MAGAZINE CALLS YOU THE NEW SPIELBERG BUT ALL YOU DO IS THE SAME GENRE OVER AND OVER. STOP IT DAMMIT. DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL.

The 6th Sense was brilliant, Unbreakable was good but flawed, Signs was ok....until you sit down and think about it and how dumb it was(aliens who've mastered space travel decide to attack a planet almost completely covered with water and with lots of humidity when their weakness is water), and The Village was terrible.

I would like to see Smamawhatsisface do a movie of another genre. I honestly believe his talent is being wasted by greedy, one-dimension producers who tend to categorize actors and directors as if they're products on a K-Mart shelf. Now, if I was a producer, the next project I would land on this director's desk is an espionage movie, since he handles mystery quite well and, of course, a very, very good scriptwriter.

Its human nature to avoid pain. In this case, the kind of pain the modern world brings, e.i. rape, murder, etc. The villagers managed to take the concept of avoidance several steps further. Interesting idea.
But still, I don't think its possible to avoid it neither completely or permanently. In the long run the experiment is bound to fail. Something that wasn't shown in the film.

I liked The Village... I don't think it was as good as the other Shamalan movies, but good nonetheless.

Are you serious? You must scare easily. I really liked the movie but, I definently wouldn't call it a thriller, I don't give a shit what it's advertised as it's not the least bit thrilling.

I liked the Village. It was different, an assuredly better than Blair Witch (were they thinking?) The most nefarious character in the film had to be the guy toward the end behind the desk, reading that newspaper. He was cold blooded. I am thinking: SEQUEL. Count me in. After all...River Phoenix's brother is hanging in limbo.....and there is a pretty girl in need...yes... :X

The Village was a little slow, but so are all his movies. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that there were no real monsters, only people dressed as one. Other than that, it had a revealing ending which was definitely original as far as movies go. Still, I prefer Sixth Sense and Signs.

the movie was kind of kewl. i mean also kinda weird though because the people are like trying to create their own world. well actually i guess thats kinda kewl.but why would you send the blind girl to get something.she was probably 10 times as scared when she felt a twig than a person who could see
