It's coaches and players. The sports talk shows all have these hyperbolic narratives they create that can change from game to game or series to series. It seems it's all been sensationalized with social media.

I removed all those shows from my youtube feed today, it's crazy how different my feed looks now.

 

A friend of mine who I couldn’t get a hold of for over a week, finally replied to my text messages a couple days ago. He wrote, “Long story short I’ve been out of contact because I almost died. I just got out of the hospital and they had to install a pacemaker.” He included a really troubling looking picture of himself in the ICU.

It’s been a hectic week in general, and I’m just glad it’s over.

He is also a cancer survivor from several years ago. So I’m wondering if it was a complication from his past health issues. Guess I’ll just have to find out later when he’s ready to talk about it.

 

the physical form we occupy has an absolute chronological age. our outlook on life is another matter. keeping curiousity and a sense of wonder is a good thing,
and creative imagination alone makes us anything very much different, and maybe not all that different, from a cat or porcupine.

i'm not so sure we can put an actual age number on our perspective. only perhaps the age at which we furst looked at things a particular way.
but as a child we can look at things from a perspective, or what we imagine that perspective to be, of someone much older then we have yet to become.

at any rate the numbers can be quite arbitrary, though i do sometimes feel anyone in a position of authority is older then me, even though they might be half my actual age.
well not just authority either, in some ways everyone. and then i realize, by now, nearly everyone is younger, usually waaay younger then i am, and people my own age,
a good half of them, have already found some way to have died and are gone.

some of the things i'm interested in, is mostly people way younger then myself, furry and sf and things like that, but the train thing, those are mostly close to my own age,
though all of us started being into when we were much younger.

we make our own generalizations to express ourselves more briefly, by their nature generalizations are full of holes, approximations, and even extreme distortions.

He had symptoms of Atrial fibrillation. His heart stopped beating and he was sent to the hospital where it did that a few more times. Scary stuff indeed. All this time I thought he was flaking out on me for our hang out times. I didn’t find out until after his release.
