We called it the Boob Tube in my time. I watch PBS, and some news, but as for the rest, please spare me. The commercials are low class, repetitious (hypnotize the masses ?) Paying big bux for cable, only to see more commercials, and mindless junk...adds insult to injury. I have an idea. Create a giant catalogue, where we can punch in some numbers, and be billed only for what we watch. For 25 cents, we can see old movies from the 1930s. And create a device that automatically eliminates commercials from the screen, and plays our favorite music, and a pre arranged image...I have spoken.....
I am not positive, but I remember a plastic game called a boob tube with marbles in it, and somehow...the midlessness, and noise from the toy, and the futility of it may have made it seem addictive, and futile....like TV..but that is just my guess....
Oh, I always thought it had to do with something else but never quite understood why if it's called that they are banned on most public stations. Learn something everyday.
