Just watched the Boston Bruins eliminate The Toronto Maple Leafs from the NHL playoffs 5-1,

I’d like to personally thank Justin Bieber for showing up tonight at TD Bank Garden in Boston. Bieber is a big Maple Leafs fan, and as history has shown
whenever he shows up at a final game of a series, the Leafs invariably lose.

The curse of Justin Bieber, Lives!

It’s hilarious that they lost in an arena named after their hometown.

My hours are all over the place. I'm often not working at 8 am but regularly working at 8 pm instead. Maybe I've already posted this but....I absolutely hate having to wake up at 6 am and rush to be somewhere by 7 or 7:30. I'd much rather wake up, drink some coffee and enjoy my morning time, start work when I want and then maybe end up working much later in the evening than most people do. I'm totally fine with that and I still sometimes put in much longer days than 8 hours. But I just want to do it in a way that makes me happier.

Sports fans... A night to remember for sure.

You probably all witnessed it but the San Diego Padres upset the first place Seattle Mariners in Game 24 of the MLB season, riveting stuff. :grinning:

In all seriousness Dame Lillard had a pretty Amazing game tonight, caps it off with this shot.

My wife just asked me the cutest question. She said we needed to talk about the viking girl tattoo, not sure why, she hasn't gotten the wolf done yet but anyway she asks "I know your all about *historical accuracy* so I need to know if you're okay with her helmet having fluffy rim and horns..."

** = sarcastic voice, like John Connors "great military leader" from T2

I said yes I think it's essential to make me cute, ahem, her cute :tongueclosed: I said yes to fluffy fur and horns. :)

When I suffer from something like a cold or flu or something that makes me sweat it out at night I swear by going outside during the day for at least 15 minutes. Doesn't matter if its colder than spring (captain Obvious: just dress accordingly :D). Being inside resting most of the day is good. But not coming outside in some fresh air at all is rarely helping.

I assume this is a joke to put things in a fun/intriguing perspective? :p Feeling either happy or content means pretty much everything (to most). Certainly on the long term

My best friend would also say happiness and contentment were overrated.
@Total Darkness I'm also interested in your reasoning, whether it's similar to his.

I like being happy and content but I don't disagree with my friend. They are overrated. Not that they aren't nice to feel.

How would you describe your ideal general state of being then? Neutral? I think content is better and a normal striving point. Or maybe aim, as striving to get it sounds like a big effort without a guarantee to get it. Worthwile if one is depressed, but maybe not if one is in a lets say neutral state. Although isn't settling for neutral also a form of being content? :p

My ideal state is happy. But people strive for happiness at the expense of all else. People go on holiday three times a year because it makes them happy, Asmo. If happiness is the ultimate state of being and the most important thing then that's fine.

Great art has come from not being happy. Innovation comes from discontent. No-one is saying happiness isn't a good thing, just that it is overrated when it's described as the ultimate goal.

So its not the state that is overrated. But yes, the holidays example is great and I notice it too. However, where I take kinda issue with it is how they go about it. At the expense of most other things.

Anyway, being content is an excellent general state of being (one should be very glad to have that :grinning:). Happiness is best experienced as a temporal high. People that are happy too much/often tend to be annoying or obnoxious :p (same with hanging too much in the other side of the spectrum)

    Acknowledged AND agreed :D

It’s about six am and I’m hungover. Does that count?

Who needs an excuse? You can just be like.. I'm hungover! You don't need an excuse.

I'll probably never have another hangover in my life. Not sad about that.
