Pot makes you "all spacy", fries your brain like an egg, and hurts your memory: This is my GPA throughout High School. Freshman year I did horribly and at the time I got terrible grades (I didn't once get a 3.0 that year 2.8 2.7). This has killed my accumulative. But sophmore year I started smoking in the summer and then steadily improved in school. I got a 3.03 or something the first semester then as I continued to smoke I got a 3.38 second semester. Right now I'm in semester two at my school and kicking ass I randomly decided to try hard for school and set a goal to get a 3.5 and right now at the midterm of the 1st quarter I've got one with room for lots of additions (the Bs I have are high B's nearly B+'s). Next year I plan on getting a 4.0 while taking AP-English AP-Chem, Pre-Calculus, and AP-Spanish. I think the AP classes will help out quite a bit with my gpa. I've been smoking daily w/ breaks in between and I've become incredibly motivated. Anyone else excited for college? I'm just now looking into some schools. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking for $14-21K for tuition with a respected educational program.
Most of the white people I know that smoke pot are smart as hell. The smartest guy I know of is a stoner.
curious DUCK, what does "white" have to do with it? i know many PEOPLE that smoke herb and are smart as hell.
It's just a coincidence. It's just all the black stoners I know are gangsters otr drugdealers and really aren't that smart. I didn't mean anything by it. I just don't know any smart black stoners, I'm not saying there aren't any, or that there are less than smart white stoners but, I don't know any.
I smoked pot in high school and I graduated 6th in my class with a GPA of 3.97 It's all about focusing. Some can focus better with pot. Others cannot. I think people who do toke are much more openminded. At least in my experience. If you go to http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/eduhome.htm they have a list of colleges and universities, their websites, their most popular majors, price range, location, etc. etc. etc. Really really useful. I used it a lot when I was in school...they even have some graduate stuff too...check it out, man. It'll work.

This pretty much sums it up. If you can focus while high, great, feel free to do it. The problem lies in that some people can't focus while high and still get high too all the time. It sounds to me like you've got it under control, so have fun Oh, and I completely know where you are coming from. My AP physics and AP chemistry teacher both told me I'd fail out of college! Can you believe that? Oh well, I've smoked every day of my college education and I've not had a problem yet! As for recommendations, do you REALLY want to spend 20k a year on tuition alone? Add another 10k for living expenses and you are up to 30k a year! I'd recommend an in state school just because they are so much cheaper. Purdue and IU are good schools for a good price. But I guess if you have rich parents you could go anywhere you want good luck humandraydel
IU and Purdue are definitely viable options. I might also consider going to a State School from another state. Right now the plan is to study chemistry. When I smoke I just think everything is so cool so I'm just like oh what's this and get real focused on it.
I don't smoke pot, never have, and have a 3.8. The only reason it's not higher is because freshman year my yiayia died and my grades slipped. By the end of this year, with AP classes my GPA will be up to a 3.9 and next year I should have over a 4.0 due to 5, possibly 6 AP classes. Relying on something that will screw up my lungs isn't my idea of a viable study suppliment.... You aren't in the norm: the majority of people that I know who smoke pot (half of my school) have a GPA of lower than 3.0 which is pretty crappy considering how easy it is to get at least all Bs.
In the class that graduated before me, there was this one kid who smoked every single day...and graduated #1 (i forget if its valeDICKtorian, or saluTITorian, whatever, fuck em) and he smoked weed every day.
My friend used to smoke more weed than anymore (he started in 7th grade) and so far his cummulative GPA is like 4.3.
