Anybody coming to the best fest in the midwest? Three full days and nights of music in rural Illinois. Good music and vibes galore. It's held annually on Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-29 this year). moe. will be headlining saturday and sunday. More bands TBA sometime around mid-February with a first time headliner for Friday night. Don't miss this fest! Great late night shows, nice campsites, and good weather (most of the time, lol if you went last year). A lot of well known acts as well as some great small bands are featured at Summer Camp. Last year's fest included:

moe., umphrey's mcgee, jazz mandolin project w/ fishman, jeff austin of ymsb (there are rumors of ymsb in '05 floating around), leftover salmon, oteil and the peacemakers, keller williams, medeski martin and wood, groovatron, family groove company, green lemon, kilborn alley blues band, new monsoon, tea leaf green and many more.

Hope to see you there! Don't forget to pack the peaceful vibes!

ha ha. I remember we had an RV and thought we could tough it out.

then the storm really hit and we were trying to drive out avoiding running hippies, abondoned tents, and the other vehicles driving anyway they could. Scary.

Still, the first day was increbilbe. They changed it to make the festival 3 days this year! Maybe it's to make up for the lost one last year.. he he.

Yep I am going!! I went last year for the first time and had a blast. Luckily our friends found a bed & breakfast right before the storm hit. You should have seen the look on the bed & breakfast owners face when we walked in :) We ate at pizza hut that night and bumped into someone from Moe's management. He told us that Umphrey's was playing that night. So we got to see them for free. Here is a picture of another storm when we were on our way home.

I was 17 (still am) and everyone I was with was also 17 so we made the haul back to Chicago during the storm, got some rest, and came back the next morning for the rescheduled shows. We made it back before some of the people who stayed in Peoria were even awake and caught every set on Monday. Keller was great, especially with the Summer Camp lyrics in Vacate :) Oteil and the PMers played a sweet set during which I met Fishman chilling by the soundbooth. JMP w/ Fish was awesome and moe. just put the icing on the cake. The traveling was crazy, which made it fun and not tedious. I don't know how some of you handled that drive tripping face. I could barely make it stoned. Could any of you see the road? I definitely couldn't. Anyway, I hope to see all of you at my third year of Scamp. Let's make it a great time!

I went last year, and it was a shitload of fun. It was my first major festival and let me say I have gotten hooked to the scene since then. I also might add that I did shrooms for the first time at my first festival to the moe. set on friday night.

I say we at least try to keep and touch and get together during the festival to have a little Hipforums meetup.

Then we can drink a beer or two and chill out.

I'm still looking forward to it! :)

Summercamp is a good time- and only about an hour from where I live which is great. I'm sure I'll be there again this year- hope to see some of you there!

must be nice to live so close. It's a long drive for me. I remember last year I went in an RV with some friends and the drive was so boring. Theres nothing to look at! Just an endless sight of farms.

Its nice to live so close to just when its Summercamp time. The rest of the time it sucks because you live in the middle of farmland :)
