Eek, that's bad. I'd sure take the dog to the vet & see what he says.. Please make really sure he can't get near any other cats, then see if there's any serious and safe options, like a good, solid training program & make sure he can't get away from you while you're doing that with him.. if not then yes he'll have to be put down... I understand it'd be really hard to just put him down but all the same I'm glad you don't live on my block w/my two kitties... (and me, too! I'm scared of any dog, let alone one that ate a cat... but I also understand how anyone can love their dog... that's why I still think you should talk to a good vet before deciding on the future of your dog)

I love cats and feel really sorry for the one who just met an early demise.

    hmmmmmmm?

Dogs chase cats, cats dont like dogs (unless they are use to that certainn dog or the dog i used to the cat), cats run from dogs, cats scratch at dogs and dogs bite at cats. thats the way life is. the cat didnt get away fast enough obviously.

The taste of blood though? ya call someone and find there is anything to that.

was this a pet cat or one of the cats that was mesing up your greenhouse?

I have heard that dogs and cats don't like each other.

I don't know what they're teaching in schools.. But as savage as it sounds, I'm afraid your dog is normal. Cats eat mice, Dogs eat cats...

That's not true... they often don't really like each other, will often bark/chase, but a dog actually killing/maiming a cat isn't normal. And not being able to make the dog let go also seems to me like the dog is pretty aggressive.

I think you should just give the dog the rest of the cat to hide the evidence. My dog used to eat birds. They're natural predators. They eat things. I don't think you need to kill it. Well, maybe. I don't know. Why am I here?

For some reason the thought of a cat eating a mouse doesn't bother me so much - but a dog eating a cat. I guess the farther up the predator chain you go -the more gruesome the thought. Like on animal planet when they show the tigers going after and eating the deer - I have to change the channel every time.

i'm okay with animals doing their natural hunting thing, but it's been my experience and the experience of my mother that dogs will just start attacking bigger and bigger animals, including humans. they're very like people that way.

well, plus that cat was either his pet or someone else's MOST LIKELY.

honestly, i personally cant kill an ant on purpose. but i do agree that it gets worse watching that kinda shit when the creatures become more warm and cuddly and fuzzy.

the mice thing still bothers me though.

well, and cats are bigger. i think mice are really cute, but there's less mess and less nuisance from a dead mouse than with a dead cat.
