I've always loved reenactments, ren fairies, and medieval history since I was a young child and would really like to get into participating in events now that I'm an adult.

Anyone into anything like that on this site? And any tips or anything for a newbie?

    Thanks! :)

there's a medieval fair probably 20 minutes from here but i've still not made it out there. for one thing, my friends are lame and it doesn't really seem like a thing to do alone. also, i always forget about it when i'm looking for something to do over the summer. it seems like it would be cool though.

Have you heard of the Society For Creative Anachronism? I took the liberty of looking it up for you. You are a citizen of The Barony of Seleone in The Kingdom of Gleann Abhann. Anyway, you can join if you like, I noticed they do some stuff in or near Biloxi. Here are a couple of links.

No but I’ve been to Hammond castle museum in Gloucester, MA a few times and was fascinated by their display of medieval armor and implements of war

not my favorite time and place to reinact, buuuut, there was a time when i lived in a household where it was what was happening.
so i joined the recorder consort and also carved some wooden trenchers, and wore a cloak and t-tunic.
personally i'd rather 'live' a very different imaginary time that has yet to exist.

learning about actual technologies and cultures was, somewhat interesting.
most of which i've forgotten, or partially so.

i was never a stick jock, but i did have my own 'device'
(shield/banner/emblem: on a field vert, embordered aur, in base a tree, aur, with hacorns vert, in chief, a brace of winged cats, rampant guardant aur, with staves raguly argent)

fingol o garranglas, hermit of the haunted wood.
(dagda's other son, the one who chose to be a bard rather then a warrior, much to dagda's disappointment)

(barrony of three mountains, kingdom of an tir, known world)
