The investigator in me still wants those not interviewed by the FBI to just come forward on YouTube and the media and just tell their story with their evidence publically.

It’s beyond just Dr.Ford’s story now.

If it is false and the right wing is right, I’ll own up to it. But there isn’t much proof to disprove Dr.Ford’s claims either.

In Exactly one month from today are the midterm elections, If the democratic party takes control over the house, the first order of business is begin impeachment proceedings against the President, the second order of business is begin a real investigation of Kavanagh. If found guilty of sexual assault Kavanagh will be ousted – Period! Exclamation Point! End of story.

The irony of that movie scene though, is that in the next scene it was a giant emotional test of conscience.....one of compassion.

Which is the opposite of what happened in real life.

I mean just look at an alternate set of events. Kavanaugh gets delayed, the seat remains vacant a bit longer, the Republicans still maintain control. They had less to lose if they truly wanted to have better PR with women. But no they HAD to ramrod it through.

People were already sympathetic to Kavanaugh about the high school claims, but when it started showing that mindset of his bled into the college years....and alcohol got involved with his temperament.

Another hypocrisy I’d like to point out is the tenor here on these forums about “I’m drink libtard tears”; and yet also claim to be upstanding Christians (where boasting is not consistent with the faith).

It’s one thing in our culture when political correctness has ran afoul of being a well-intentioned foundation to policy (corporate or lawful foundations), it’s another thing when it’s unbalanced in a way so as to teach the masses that being rude or lacking empathy is acceptable.

    Edit:

Let me also add that by consistency of the conservative movement, they would be against hippie culture entirely.

There are many topics and behaviors that you all admit to here on parts of this site, that the Republicans would take from you or at least slander your character for.

Just remember that the main conservative movement was a counter-counterculture of the 60’s hippie and drugs and free love philosophies.

So to me that’s always puzzled me how some seem to be defending Policies or views here contrary to where the 1960’s started.

Yeah many theorize that the events that unfolded in the last 2 weeks could happen because unlike Roy Moore’s accusation-drama

There was no photographic or video proof of Dr.Ford’s claims.

The pre-iPhone/Android era is a black hole of proof that the people expect to see nowadays, the both political parties know this. (That’s about pre-2007 if you need a date).

Testimonies are the only kind of evidence we got; and yearbooks.

(Joke: thinks of polishing my yearbooks for preservation of evidence I have on others who might be famous one day).

"Last week, survivors of sexual violence and their supporters rose up in solidarity as the moving testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford called the impunity of wealthy white men into question. Touching on issues of male entitlement and the silence of survivors, this cultural moment reveals the growing societal tensions around who has the power to define “truth” when it comes to narratives of sexual assault.

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanagh reflects an archetype of how entitlement and privilege breed violence in all areas of life, from the university to the workplace to the home. Kavanagh’s consistent appeals to his elite background and Yale education reveal the misogynistic assumptions pervasive among the ruling class, namely that one of the privileges of wealth and power is the ability to use and abuse women with impunity. Like the “founding fathers” of this nation who ruthlessly raped enslaved women without consequence to their fortunes or legacies, Kavanagh assumes his status entitles him to silence those he’s exploited on the path to power.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford grew up in a world of power and privilege, but despite her backgroundher story resonates with many survivors everywhere. As Kavanagh and his equally inebriated friend used her body as a prop in a perverted game of male bonding, Ford’s screams were silenced by a hand over her mouth. This silencing did not end with her assault, since trauma and fear of social consequences compelled her to keep her story private for decades to come. During the hearing her teary eyed description of the assault was met with a line of questioning that sought to cast doubt on every aspect of her account: “Are you sure this happened?” Pro-Kavanaugh sources proposed Ford’s legitimate trauma was being exploited by Democrats for political gain, while less generous sources, President Trumpand Donald Trump Jr. included, didn’t hesitate to paint her as a vindictive woman set on ruining the predestined professional ascent of one of the country’s chosen sons.

Her deeply personal but equally political testimony made many survivors recall moments when they felt violated or invalidated and encouraged them to share their stories and validate others. This overflowing of feminist solidarity holds the potential to spark a movement like those seen around the world, where survivors challenge their abusers and the systems that protect them, manifesting both their discontent and desire to heal in their schools, workplaces, and communities.

Kavanaugh’s defenders argue that he should not be judged for “youthful indiscretions” or for “one incident.” Such defenses echo debates when people attempt to confront rapists and physical abusers. Rape culture means the deflection from holding those accountable by centering the conversation about preserving the “future” of promising athletes due to their social and economic value. The fact that Kavanaugh has already lived out his “future” means that the hearings must re-establish his potential and youth in order to create a sympathetic public character. Kavanaugh’s youth is frozen in time while Dr. Ford is painted in a different light; delusional, desperate, vindictive, and a joke.

Accomplished lawyer Anita Hill and Dr. Ford fell victim to the same forces of male violence, but the juxtaposition of their hearings also illustrates how antiracist and feminist movements both failed women of color by refusing to grapple with the intersections of race and gender violence. Anita Hill famously challenged Supreme Court nominee Justice Clarence Thomas, and sparked a national discussion about sexual assault. Yet, as a Black woman, she was particularly vulnerable to the intersections of racism and misogyny. Thomas defended himself by accusing Hill of betraying her race and infamously referred to her testimony as a “lynching”. Despite facing racist stereotypes that justified violence and disbelief as well as a colorblind feminist movement, her testimony provoked what became known as The Year of the Woman in 1992, in which more new women were elected to Congress than in any previous decade.

Hill’s allegations against Thomas began on a similar note to Ford’s Testimony: “What happened next, and telling the world about it, are the two most difficult things-experiences of my life.” Thomas persisted in asking her out even though she had turned him down multiple times, and would share explicit sexual encounters and pornography with Hill during work even though she repeatedly expressed discomfort. Unlike Ford, Hill’s trauma often went unacknowledged and the public saw her as less “credible” because of cultural myths that once rationalized sexual violence against enslaved women, and continue to make women of color targets for predators of all races.

Although the Kavanaugh hearing was a powerful moment that inspired solidarity, it was also a display of patriarchal state power. Even as Dr. Ford gained political leverage and credibility from her race and class status, male politicians and some media outlets still questioned the authenticity of her intellect. Dr. Ford’s decision to come forward was traumatic and has marked her a class traitor. Dr. Ford, an upper class white woman, must appear near-perfect yet is still torn to shreds. It demonstrates that women really mean nothing to the state as long as patriarchy is upheld."

    Just not enough evidence.

It’s also suspicious as heck that the FBI report is under judicial and Congress SEAL.

Meaning if we ask our Senators what they saw, they can’t share it. They’re gagged ordered for all intents and purposes.

is anyone really surprised? there is a hole in our constitution big enough to drive a truck through, and the russian mafia just did.

first the balancing act of the three branches fails when all are dominated by persons with less regard of their actions then their personal symbolic gain.
but more then that, and this is the real scarry part, is how people at the street level, are given license to harass, by an example at the top, that demonstrates no respect or consideration.

what a constitution prevents from the authority to achieve directly, the end run of influence is always potentially there.

THAT is how the holocaust was able to happen.

Someone who blatantly lied in front of the world under oath and almost definitely committed the sexual assault he was accused of becomes a Supreme Court judge, and the RWNJs are happy... because at least the libruls lost.

Kavanaugh will never live this down, the GOP will never live this down, people will never forget it, America is now even more divided than it was... and all that they can do is snicker about it.

FFS... they could have nominated another judge who didn't have the controversy attached. I am sure there is at least one right winger or even a MODERATE who would have made a fine judge. Imagine actually nominating someone who could have been SUPPORTED by the majority of people in the country (the ones who voted for Hillary) instead of someone they will never accept. If they actually start trying to make the hard right agenda part of the law, there will definitely be severe repercussions.

Once again, Trump helps out the Russian goal of dividing Americans further when he didn't have to.

    This
    Is the evidence
Innocent people dont need to lie, even about the small details.
And someone who lies under oath has no business sitting on the highest court in all the land. That is too important.
The fact that he was quickly pushed to confirmation after lying, without his lies being brought into consideration, is the real issue here. Who can respect his position now? They've made a mockery of the Supreme Court by putting a liar on it.

    Those 18-34, must vote.

But since the calculated move is that young people don’t organize well, the liberal young demographic is just in their vernacular “triggered” and whining.

And I’m gonna say this frankly: the left has got to get over it. They can’t react in a Whiney sort of way anymore or a I feel like I’m gonna be sick and commit suicide tomorrow kinda reaction (and recently talking with therapist friends) they’ve seen an uptick in clients who literally felt like giving up on life; no fight left.

This can’t happen, neither can people riot in violence, the protest movement has to use different tactics than it did during the civil rights movement.

I would also advise completely disconnecting from online media, it gets you out of echo chambers, comfortable as it is.

My gut feeling is this activated the republican base who turn out to vote. They like the spirit of male dominance in society and they gain a lot of strength from the movement of (I shouldn’t be fired from my job, because of something in my off-time personal reasons; even if abusive). Political correctness is ruining men. And this isn’t just white men, it’s many races of men and it’s feeding the Red side of political movements at this time.
