Got my Madeline doll house, and it sat in its box for awhile in the throw everything in the bathroom and laundry down here away from animals, where everything goes until I can get to it. Had to clear out a space upstairs in the room that is always blocked to animals......a room that I use as my keep safe dolls and things and mom's furniture ..and no one uses it.. So it took awhile...and i cleared out a space...Decided on some things going into the shed...and brought in a table to put it on....so that all accomplished.I decided ok, time or for me put this thing together...yeah, SURE! you take plastic pieces and rotate them together to fit together like in the diagram that are too big to even anything with, lie they are cardboard...and that is just the bottom piece...After spending all night one night and cursing....I finally got it, and only by a happy accident miracle... and got it all together and am stuck on the roof...now...and cannot take it anymore...so i asked Josh, to let Bennie know I need his help over here when he comes over next. Bennie likes Josh' sister who is only 33 ..Bennie won't tell anyone how old he is...but Josh said at least 60. Josh's sister is avoiding him... but everyone loves bennie...including me.....and he can do anything..and told me that if i needed help to let him know with anything..and i do now. Gawd. never knew I could hate a doll house this much...lol Diana, the Queen of the manor invited him over for July 4th.....and said they love bennie so much. that they could not let him be alone on July4th...and Josh's sister never came that day...first time ever she ever missed July4th...oh,oh...and Josh loves bennie like a big brother...and still has him over...Josh's sister does not live here. Josh said his sister likes Bennie as a friend... as that...who doesn't like Bennie.? but I an understand her feeling uncomfortable right now... Anyway, I am waiting here for much needed help...LOL Bennie........help me with this dang thing! LOL Before I throw it out....My last one that came was already put together...the one that disappeared just like that from my life.. I even wrote to my seller and asked her questions on how. She couldn't help me. She told me she puts Ikea furniture together for a living and this thing was even tricky for her. GREAT! I
and i have met all kinds of collectors on ebay...but the Madeline people are the worst...talk about sniping an auction in the last 5 seconds...It happens to me every time...I was so angry yesterday, that i bought another at $20.00 more than I should have paid somewhere else. So basically i spent the day being angry at myself.... and two things now I have had to send back to the seller for a full refund..as the things were not new like they described...and i could not keep them at those prices....and this never happened to me before , either. WOW! It has been kind of ugly with these collectors....so the love affair for me is dieing already with the Madeline things right now...due to ugly experiences... I used to see Madeline things at sales and things...NOT ANYMORE! I am happy when I get the books by the Madeline creator Ludwig Bemelman's... I like his art..and Eden toy company that made these things...you are not him anyway.....

He is known best for the Madeline picture books. Six were published since 1939.[2] Contents 1 Early life 2 In America 3 Writing career 3.1 Madeline series 3.2 Adaptations 4 Personal life 5 Books 6 References 7 External links Early life[edit] Bemelmans was born to the Belgian painter Lambert Bemelmans and the German Frances Fischer in Meran, Austria-Hungary (now Italy). His father owned a hotel. He grew up in Gmunden on the Traunsee in Upper Austria. His first language was French and his second German. In 1904, his father left the family for Ludwig's governess, after which his mother took Ludwig and his brother to her native city of Regensburg, Germany. Bemelmans had difficulty in school, as he hated the German style of discipline. He was apprenticed to his uncle Hans Bemelmans at a hotel in Austria. While an apprentice, he was regularly beaten and even whipped by the headwaiter. He finally warned the headwaiter that if he was whipped again he would retaliate with a gun. The headwaiter ignored his warning, whipped him, and Bemelmans reportedly shot and seriously wounded him in retaliation.[3] Given the choice between reform school and emigration to the United States, he chose the latter.[4] In America[edit] He spent the next several years working at hotels and restaurants in the US. In 1917, he joined the U.S. Army but was not sent to Europe because of his German origins. He did become an officer, and was promoted to Second Lieutenant. He writes of his experiences in the Army in the book, My War With the United States. In 1918, he became a US citizen. In the 1920s, Bemelemans tried to become an artist and painter while working at hotels, but had substantial difficulties. His cartoon series The Thrilling Adventures of the Count Bric a Brac was dropped from the New York World after six months. He associated with Ervine Metzl, a commercial artist and illustrator who is variously described as Bemelmans's friend,[5][6] "agent",[6] and "ghost artist".[7] Writing career[edit] This section needs additional citations for verification. He began to publish children's books, beginning with Hansi in 1934. He published the first Madeline book in 1939; after being rejected by Viking, it was published by Simon & Schuster.[8] In 1953, he fell in love with a small bistro in Paris, La Colombe (fr) in the Ile de la Cité, and bought it. He painted murals therein and owned the place for two years before selling it to Michel Valette, who converted it into a notable cabaret. Bemelmans also wrote a number of adult books, including travel and humorous works, as well as movie scripts. The latter included Yolanda and the Thief. While spending time in Hollywood, he became a close friend of interior decorator Elsie de Wolfe, Lady Mendl. A mural on the walls of the Carlyle Hotel's Bemelmans Bar in New York City, Central Park, is his only artwork on display to the public. He painted the children's dining room on Aristotle Onassis's yacht Christina (now the Christina O), for the young daughter of the magnate, Christina Onassis. Madeline series[edit] Each Madeline story begins: "In an old house in Paris, that was covered with vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines... the smallest one was Madeline." The girls are cared for by Miss Clavel. She is likely a nun, as some French orders called themselves Madames, particularly that of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat,[9] after which this convent school seems to be modeled; and "Mrs." would not be an appropriate equivalent in English. Some have argued that Miss Clavel's apparel looks more like that of a nurse (although why a nurse is working in what appears to be a Paris convent school is not explained). Other characters include Pepito, son of the Spanish ambassador, who lives next door; Lord Cucuface, owner of the house; and Genevieve, a dog who rescues Madeline from drowning in the second book. Bemelmans published six Madeline stories in his lifetime, five as picture books and one in a magazine. A seventh was discovered after his death and published posthumously: Madeline, 1939: in which Madeline must have her appendix removed Madeline's Rescue, 1953: in which Madeline is rescued from drowning by a dog (later named Genevieve). Winner of the Caldecott Medal for U.S. picture book illustration Madeline and the Bad Hat, 1956: in which the "bad hat" is Pepito, the Spanish ambassador's son, whose cruel antics outrage Madeline. Madeline and the Gypsies, 1959: in which Madeline and Pepito have an adventure at a circus. Madeline in London, 1961: in which Pepito moves to London, and Madeline and the girls go to visit him. Madeline's Christmas, 1985: in which everyone in the house catches cold, except Madeline. (First published in McCall's in 1956). Madeline in America and Other Holiday Tales, 1999: in which Madeline inherits a fortune from her American great-grandfather. The book also reveals Madeline's full name, Madeline Fogg. Adaptations[edit] The first book, Madeline, was adapted as an Academy Award-nominated 1952 short animated cartoon directed by Robert Cannon for UPA and released by Columbia Pictures, also titled Madeline. Between 1988 and 2002, an animated Madeline series was made for television (plus one direct-to-video film Madeline: Lost in Paris), with the narration in rhyming style read by Christopher Plummer. A live-action Madeline film based on several of the books appeared in 1998, directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer and starring Hatty Jones as Madeline, Frances McDormand as Miss Clavel, and Nigel Hawthorne as Lord Covington. Personal life[edit] Bemelmans is said to have met his future wife, Madeleine "Mimi" Freund, as a model in Metzl's studio.[10] They had one daughter, Barbara, and three grandchildren, Paul Marciano, James Marciano, and John Bemelmans Marciano.[11] Bemelmans died in New York of pancreatic cancer, aged 64."
Finished up a workout in my garage, sooo hot, but I kinda like it. Drenched with sweat, it's an accomplished feeling.
Had a long conversation with my brother on the phone yesterday, and he made sense....about many things. I said I can't eat gluten or dairy and I'm 95 pounds now....as most everything I can eat is boring.... He said if i want an ice cream sandwich....get one and eat it ...or whatever my system wants..as it knows best....and if it does not work...well, then it doesn't. I just ate two klondike ice cream sandwiches...no problem....lol...and I could probably finish the other 4 in the box....but I will stop with these two now... oh, and someone called me about the colonoscopy results...sounded like some intelligent Asian from the lab research center......no, not cancer..but check again and get another colonscopy next...year...Ya think? I don't think so.
Yes, I know, but I don't want to invest any more money on this computer....as my computer is still Windows 7.and will not support Windows 10, so have to get a new one anyway that has the new Windows 10 in it..as this computer is limited to what I can do anymore...like I can't start an auction with any photos from my real camera/It won't upload on unless I start with one photo from my-phone. I have to start with my i-phone which I don't like the pictures it takes as well..then I switch over to this computer and I can add more then from here and my photos.. I figured away around it..but it takes time... and a whole lot of patience. This is not only a keyboard problem anymore...I mean the thing is writing words i am not even typing anymore. My computer guy told me to use this one until it breaks...and I have been researching already what to get....for over a month now. Thank god I have him to come over when I do.help me set it up....and put all kinds of protection walls into it....etc..whatever I need.
Been selling constantly on ebay lately...Had to wrap one of those big Himstedt dolls today...What a major effort...Have only 3 of those left....now. Then shortly sold Caroline American Girl...I don't take to the colonial era too much, but I i will keep Felicity, one of the original ones from Pleasant Co. It has been constant selling here lately...
I met my neighbor's girlfriend today for all of two minutes as I was in a hurry to take the dogs...but DAMN, I like her! I can stop imagining her being one of those self centered b's now....Woo..I am glad. I can see us becomming friends. Josh told her I paint...and she said she just started..and i said I can't wait to see what you have been painting. She said that will be fun...! Ok, Josh , you have my blessing now....lol
I'm eating an ice cream sandwich.....I can eat one or two of these when ever I want to. No problem. Not too hungry today so I am just going to eat one tonight. Then I have to wrap two more packages for tomorrow....
Well, I don't now how people work and are on here a day. Whenever I worked...a lunch break or dinner break was my own time only...and here i have so much work I cant been here all day either.. and when I run out of things to sell, I will sell my artwork again.. which is really my form.... and so many other things come into play. Anyway...back to stuff..and things to do.
I am definitely on here less when I am at work but my work involves me being on my phone with a few different apps open, so sometimes I'll just have the Hipforums tab open too.
