Expect more Trump-manufactured cycles of instigations and perceived victories to satisfy his insatiable ego which stems in part from his lack of ability to find constructive meaning in his life.

The pathology is being magnified by his current position as President in a governmental system from which he expected to derive more personal power but for which lacks the discipline and expertise to cooperate with other governmental and public entities to obtain constructive results. His current behavior is an incarnation of his old fights from the past, like the one he instigated with Palm Beach officials about his flag pole at Mar-a-Lago, but this time it is being projected onto the entire U.S. and the international community.

"Since Trump actually lacks the ability to impose his will on others, his approach guarantees an endless cycle of threats, counter-threats, and escalation. He follows any tactical retreat with renewed aggression. Such is the case with the spiraling tit-for-tat trade war now underway between Trump and a widening circle of countries and economies, including Canada, Mexico, China, and the European Union. The same is true of Trump’s unilateral withdrawal from a growing number of international agreements and bodies, including the Paris climate agreement, the Iran nuclear deal, and, most recently, the United Nations Human Rights Council, after it criticized US policies towards the poor.

Trump’s paranoia is translating into heightened geopolitical tensions. Traditional allies, not accustomed to dealing with US leaders with severe mental defects, are clearly shaken, while adversaries appear to be taking advantage. Many of Trump’s supporters seem to interpret his shameless lying as bold truth-telling, and pundits and foreign leaders tend to believe that his bizarre lashing out reflects a political strategy. Yet this is a misunderstanding. Trump’s actions are being “explained” as rational and even bold, whereas they more likely are manifestations of severe psychological problems.

History abounds with mentally impaired individuals who have gained vast power as would-be saviors, only to become despots who gravely damage their societies and others. Their strength of will and promises of national greatness entice a public following; but if there is one lesson of this kind of pathology in power, it is that the long-term results are inescapably catastrophic for all."

 

Where are those Trump is always ten steps ahead folks?

He brought the world to the closest it's been to nuclear Armageddon since the cold war, and for what? A big fat fuckin nothing.

 

He's a danger in that he might actually want peace in Afghanistan after 17 years.

No, I don't think that's what makes him dangerous. If he wants peace there, the Taliban must be winning. Once they retake the country, they'll reopen the terrorist training camps and we'll be back to square one. Besides, he could change his mind on that with tomorrow's tweet. Policy has no meaning to him.

Trump is a danger because he's a cruel, childlike narcissistic, pussy grabbing,draft-dodging monster who separates infants from their parents and puts them in cages, berates a gold star family and a prisoner of war, wages war on our free press, degrades women, commits adultery (what a role model for the kids), violates the emoluments clause, uses the power of his office to reward cronies and punish enemies, sows division, promotes a skyrocketing debt, threatens the economy with his ill-conceived trade wars, berates our allies, cozies up to a brutal Russian dictator, refuses to defend our democracy against Russian cyber attacks and seems unable to tell the truth. I know there's more, but that's enough for a start.

 

Are you saying you believe Trump? He increased troops in Somalia, Niger, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Libya, because he hates Muslims. He also did give Afghanistan a taste of MOAB!

I always read Arabic News to get the clear picture. Iraqi newspapers have for a long time been saying US troops have been helping ISIS in Iraq and in Syria. The White Helmets have just been evacuated by Israel after a request from America. ISIS fighters were given an escape path out of Mosul and Kobani by US troops, otherwise the Iraqi Shia fighters would have decimated them. Then there was the killing of 2 or 300 Russians in Syria, by US forces? Do you think Putin would meet with Trump after such an event? Is someone is trying to blow smoke up some American voter's ass?

 

I have an acquaintance who is a bit of a conspiracy theorist. He believes that ISIS was created with the backing of Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. As I recall, there was one ISIS attack in Turkey, and none in Israel, or SA. hmmm.

If you consider what happened with North Korea, he tends to escalate tensions before having peace talks probably to achieve a position of strength. He increased troops in Afghanistan by 4000 last year and increased bombing. I think he'll be pulling troops out of Afghanistan and South Korea before the mid term elections.

 

You seem to be suggesting an endless war in Afghanistan.

I don't like Trump, but actually agree with him on a few things like tariffs, trade deals and peace talks. The trade deals especially with Mexico and China were never sustainable anyway and mainly were set up to increase profits for corporations while selling out American workers. I think it would be good if we starting producing things again.

I don't believe Trump is an evil monster especially with Melania at his side to keep him in line. The fact is establishment politicians are falling all over the world and the establishment media hasn't really got the memo yet.

 

I think Afghanistan is a useless case. They like to live too far back in history, in tribal lifestyles. The Taliban did offer to turn over Osama Bin Ladin if Bush gave them evidence of his involvement in 911. Bush refused to give them the evidence and invaded anyway.

 

You're relying on Melania to "keep him in line"? LOL, LOL, LOL. LOL, etc!. Peace talks are great, as long as they have an agenda, accomplish something and are more than just photo ops for the base. North Korea seems to be resuming its missile production, following their usual pattern: Lucy and the football. We had a valid arms agreement with Iran and Trump simply abrogated it. I think history will prove you wrong about the trade deals. They'll produce higher inflation, and more U.S. businesses will be closing their doors, putting workers out of a job and ushering in a recession.
