I haven't menstruated since October. The doctor said back in December I was normal; not to worry. No other changes, save the stress of my ill father. Should I be worried? I just to menstruate every twenty-nine days; I could set my watch to it!
if the doctor has checked you out all ready I wouldn't stress about it. Maybe try the gyno instead though and tell them about it. If your really worried though insist to be seen again.
Stress is one of the main causes of missed periods as well as malnutrition, so it's probably the stress.
first of all, sorry about your dad. secondly, what are you trippin' about, afterall your doc says your okay and everything, i think it rocks! periods suck, sure we need them to procreate but they still suck. who wants to feel crappy once a week every month for years upon years?! well... unless your trying to get pregnant... but a lot of it depends on your nutrition too, if i eat just the "right" things long enough, i can hide from my period for a good while. so that could be one thing, but then take into consideration who you hang around (girl wise), when a whole bunch of pheramones (is that how you spell it?) get together cycles can thrown off.
Also if you've been exercising a lot that can stop it from coming, a lot of runners practically never get their periods.
I mostly practice yoga, and yeah, it's cool! I LOVE not having a period. I'm not pregnant, because my last boyfriend had an erectile dysfunction disorder and he never successfully kept an erection for more than a minute and I didn't ever cheat on him (despite the amazing number of handsome men that tried to seduce me, grrr). If I am preggers, its the lord's child. TY for the PCOS quiz! I don't think I have PCOS at least! Should I be pregnant with the lord's child, I'm dumping it on you, Stranger.
ahh.. you might have secondary ammenhorrea. it's a condition that some people get that just stops them from getting periods. i didn't get my period for 11.5 months and checked with the doctor every few months to see what was going on with my body but nothing was wrong.. i just had that condition. it's not unhealthy or harmful, just weird. anyway, i got my period again when i started taking birth control pills. just my 2 cents.
eat more and diversify your diet and minimize your stress if you want it back. I don't get mine every month unless I'm on the pill because I eat a lot of junk food and no meat and stress over little things but it doesn't bother me.
Go back to the doctor and have more tests. You may have a pituitary problem, which is throwing prolactin into your system and stopping your periods or many other hormonal problems. Some of these things can be left alone and some NEED to be treated. (Worst case scenerio is a pituitary tumor, which it probably isn't but they need to rule it out.) Are you making milk, by any chance? Because that would really point to a prolactin pitiuatary problem. It may also be thyroid, which also NEEDS to be treated. What tests did the doc do? PLEASE see the doctor, preferably a good OBGYN at a teaching hospital, NOT an GP or an internist. They just don't know enough to help you. I hope you can get to the bottom of this.
thats actually one of the nicest things anyones said to me. i'd happily raise a kid, ive had enough fun and adventure, havin a kid around means i can go through it all again.
I started getting regular periods as soon as I turned 20. Before that i'd have my period on any random day every 3 to 5 months. Now I get it every months around the same date every 35 days. I never found the cause for me not to have normal periods like every other girl, i even went to the doctors and had a blood test that came out with nothing abnormal. I guess it's got a lot to do with lifestyle. I used to be more active back then, i mean doing sports and such. it's weird though, I would go to see a doctor, just in case. I read on something called Amenorrhea http://www.numarkpharmacists.com/hn/Concern/Amenorrhea.htm here are a few more links about it: http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Health/Diseases_and_Conditions/Amenorrhea/
I skipped periods a lot during my teens and early twenties. Turns out I have an underactive thyroid. I would suggest having blood tests done to rule out hypothyroidism.
