i agree completely. pretty much every time i move to a new area, i get an apartment that is basically right on the borderline between city and country. fall is the only season that i would kind of miss if i moved somewhere nice. but it's really not a full season anyway; the first month is just more summer, then there's 2 or 3 weeks of really nice weather and beautifully colored leaves and whatnot, and then it's suddenly winter and that doesn't stop for the next 6 months.
I live in a major city in the US right now and love it, but I would love to live in Berlin, Germany also. I am in love with Europe, and have a lot of relatives in England and Germany. Traveling in general is an amazing education, and to me, it’s a fantastic feeling to be in another country! It’s really a trip!
in the 12 years since i finished college, i've lived in 6 different apartments in 5 different cities/towns. but they were all in ohio, so it's not like i'm out seeing the world or anything fun like that.
Where would I live? Good question. Someplace peaceful away from the vileness and hate that is flooding our media and brainwashing my friends and neighbors. Someplace with like minded people. Someplace where I could grow a garden year around and lots of back highways to ride. Someplace where I can do things my own way in my own time..... I've never lived in a city other than when I park in Lincoln in the winter time and that's on the outskirts. Humans aren't meant to live in cities. Close proximity, stacked on top of each other... It brings out the worst in them.
A small, warm area in the south with all of the southern charm and none of the racism and gun nuts. mountains or ocean are a plus. heat is great, cold is not. but can be tolerated as long as it isn't as bad as new England.
Come live in my town. Hot summers, mild winters, but you still get 4 distinct seasons. We're in the foothills of the mountains. Very diverse population, racism is minimal. One does not simply get away from gun nuts amywhere in the south but its not too bad here. Come stay a while, we'll grab coffee
