I know, it's crazy the way people look at you when your talking to yourself out loud without realising it

That's so sad but true. It seems like everyone is concerned with having people like them rather than just being true to themselves fully

Don't worry. for every answer that you discover in life, you will always find 2 more questions so when you become a genius you will feel like a complete idiot.
Regarding other peoples reactions. Intelligent people discuss differences of opinions without putting you down, it is not all about being liked.
When someone puts you down, they are the person with the insecurity and when they resort to 'F' adjectives, you can be fairly certain that they are as thick as a plank.
The internet is full of people who fall into that category, but here on HF, they soon get their marching orders.
