NO really, I don't have any idea of what rastafarianism is....what are some of the basic beliefs? whats it all about?
um my extrememly ignorant understanding is that it was started about a century ago, erm jesus was an ethipoian king or something...yes, well like i said ignorant...in fact i want to know the answer as well!
Your question is answered in many of the previous posts. Haile Selassie was King of Ethiopia in the early 1900s I belive. He was supposedly a descendant of the Queen of an ancient ethiopian land called Sheeba, and King Solomon. They smoke ganja in ceremonies. It is christian, believing in the Old Testament not the New testament. Look it up its pretty easy to find good info. They believe that they know the true worship in JAH and that their has been an "ism schism as Bob Marley called it within the realm of true worship, one being the Catholic Church combining Pagan Elements for a greater appeal of "CHristianity" Look it up you can find out alot.

HIM was a decendant of King Solomon, and Queen Sheba yesI, and the last one of the royal blood line to sit on the throne of Ethiopia. RastafarI is rather complicated, based on ital, different views, and unfortunatly the divisions in faith. however the only thing that matter is Jah Love seen, all Rasta's hold Jah in the highest, however they feel about Haile Selassie, InI and all Rastas will always hold Jah in there hearts. Rasta's see all as equal, and Jah loves us all equal seen? However Rasta's are fighting a battle against Babylon and them dirty shitstem that held so many in slavery, and still does, we have fi brake dem shackles and mental chains and arise to defend our simple rights! Babylon is the corrupt world that yuh and I live in, look at America, fueling war and death fi them oil and power, all the time millions of young starve to death.
