Ingredients

• Southern Cornbread Dressing Recipe 2 batches
• 1 sleeve of saltine crackers crumbled
• 2 stalks of celery chopped
• 1 medium sized green bell pepper diced
• 1 medium sized red bell pepper diced1 large red onion, diced
• 4 tbsp salted butter
• 1 lb cooked chicken shredded
• 3 fresh sage leaves chopped
• 1/2 tsp fresh thyme leaves chopped
• 1/2 tsp fresh rosemary leaves
• 1 tbsp minced garlic
• 2 tsp kosher salt
• 1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
• 4 cups chicken broth
• 14.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
• 1 large egg lightly beaten

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
2. Remember to make the cornbread a day in advance ( to dry it out!).
3. The next day, crumble the cornbread into a large bowl, along with the crackers.
4. Pour in the chicken broth, and let sit for 10 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, toss the butter into a medium sized pan, and melt over medium heat.
6. Once the butter is melted, add in the onions, celery, and bell peppers.
7. Cook the vegetables until they soften, then add in the garlic, seasonings, and chopped herbs.
8. Turn the heat off, and stir the ingredients.
9. Add the cooked vegetables, chicken, and herb mixture into the large bowl with crumbled cornbread and crackers.
10. Add in the cream of mushroom soup, and the egg then fold the ingredients.
11. Add the mixture into a lightly greased or buttered 9 x 13 bake dish, and cover.
12. Let bake for 1 hour.
13. Remove from the oven, uncover, and bake for 30 minutes.
14. Let cool.
15. Serve & enjoy!

fuck just noticed it has a pound of chicken in it...that's a meal by itself for my skinny butt

 

looks like a good dish, but i am constantly thwarted by corn muffins. like, thats breakfast food. i want some fucking cornbread damnit.

hubby put in our seed order, will be getting most of it pretty quickly, and then saffron crocus will ship in the fall. i told him i want to grow sunchokes too. my yard will be able to keep us well fed. we are doing the permaculture student course online with Matt Powers (hubby's idea, but im not complaining) and we have a lot to do, but man its going to be awesome. we are going to grow sorghum, one variety for the grain and stalks (broomcorn) and one variety for the juice to make sorghum syrup. those tops will also be edible. got a bunch of other stuff too, and built a new compost pile the other day with spent grains from a brewer hubby knows, and woodchips. its going to be a very good year. he also is looking at mushroom plugs, and ordered trees from arbor day foundation. our yard is fixing to explode, its going to be awesome!
i even learned a cool technique for trellising tomatoes. its going to be a good year, damnit. i have so much to get done though. earthworks. chicken coop/ run. have to leave space for raising rabbits, even if we dont start them this year.
that asshole neighborhood complainer is finna get really pissed off.

trying to get some peace and quiet for the last 6hours.. give someone a room, heat, a tv, cable and internet and they want to be up your ass all day like a child. and Im not talking about satan. gf just constantly sitting in my room. if I felt like being with her, Id been in the living room. i want to listen and play music and get high .. not watch fucking tv and play on my phone.
