I actually do not harass christians. I was having a "get me out of here" kind of day when I saw a thread entitled "Please don't come here to harass christians" but if I wanted to make a blatant comment about something one said, like especially here on Hipforums, i would not hesitate to display my most truthful response, and I would'nt care about who I would offend, because that is what this general forum is about, speaking your mind.
Let me say this, my patience is at its wits end for organized religion, why you ask?
Because i live in F&*%$g Lynchburg, VA. Please do not ask me why I live in a place that drives me nuts, I have good reason.
No-one likes labels, but how else to communicate. 95% of the people in this city attend church, The other 4.5 percent are either alchololics or meth users or smoke to much pot to have a decent conversastion with, and the last .5% I have not met but am really hoping to.
This is hard to put to words so let me try... There is an evangelical movement here, it seems very hard to be accepted as a "non-believer". Jerry Falwell's church and university are in this City. Need I say more?
All I ask is that, if you must be a christian, please be the kind that does not stop thinking about things (that is if they ever did) and then uses thier faith to excuse ignorance and cruelty. I have known some really warm kind-hearted people who are of the Christian religion, and some who are jack-asses that need to go to church to keep themselves from being complete a$$holes all the time. And to them I say...PLEase Keep Going! lol.
I personally do not think the answer to the worlds problems lay within the realm of any organized religion (christian or not). John Lennon's vision of world peace is in his song you can see that he felt that way too. And then someone shot him.

I think envisioning that there is a wonderful place when you pass on is great. I do not want to spend my life feeling I owe it to "jesus". I feel my mind is just more complex than that. As for the "sin" thing, I think the golden rule and compassion are real important, I think that INDEPENDENT THINKING is important. I think the words of Albert Einstein are important "The important thing is not to stop questioning...".
