I found two quartz crystals with nice geometric form yesterday in the Humboldt - Toiyabe National Forest in Cali.

That is excellent! They should be very helpful in time to come...

    My very favorite things are:

my son, animals, rocks (which of course includes the wonderful crystal), plants (weed in particular) and the piano

So, my gazebo was such a waste of time I am so embarrassed it was so bad quality that it literally was a one use thing. I collapsed it to put it way and no less than 6 hinges broke. Well I was so angry so I got my drill and attempted to screw better screws in when I decided it was a worthless project as I I could see it would not last another moment trying to put up, hinges were buckled everywhere.

So I sent them a rather non polite email about how disappointed I was. I definitely got what I paid for but seriously??? Well, at least now I have some extra flooring for my new tent..

I went to the outdoor stores all the three good ones and i always came to the same tent but one tent was extra special price almost 50% off so I liked the look of it and I came home and I did some research and I liked the look of it because it's like a comfy house with a hinged door lol. I looked at others too but this one was good on YouTube reviews etc so I went back down had another look see and bought it... and with the monstrosity of a gazebo, and the price reduction, I'm justifying that I'm just paying normal sale price for the tent and I'm going to use the gazebo sides as tarps.

You'd laugh so hard if you saw it, I would have used it to its potential but it was so cheap, the top tarp was okay but thought the side would be same material... well moisture came up and after a few drinks into the evening tonight it was raining from the roof with moisture. It was just so terrible. Lol.

That'll teach me never to go cheap again with things like that. It's just not worth it if.

So the new tent is a Hampton Coleman. We put it together in the evening so nongood photos it's sitting out doing a night test now. But here's a photo with it all open up so you can see like I said it's a little house.

This also negates the use of my swag so I'm going to get a blown up queen bed. ;)

OMG that makes me want to :bigcry:...is your upright badly out of tune or are keys gone? Even out of tune pianos can be tuned! I'm certain you've been around the music scene long enough to be able to replace keys - which of course I just mean the top of keys because it isn't "keys" that go missing - its the tops of them.

An electric piano - oh dear me...that makes me want to :bigcry: too....

Surely to goodness you can come up with something for a computer desk that is much smaller and more useful that the shell of your piano.

Typing those words - shell of a piano... make me kind of sick to my stomach. [IMG]

There are so many things that mean a lot to me that are on my piano...a WHOLE lot. There is an antique clock that was my father's. (he died at age 39 with his 3rd heart attack....I think Mama drove him absolutely insane.) There is the book about Beethoven's hair...lots of hymnals that I truly don't think they could ever be replaced. Of course there is music other places (including the bench, but not much goes in that little shallow place)...plus all my favorite pieces that I don't want to have to hunt so they are on the left side - the hymnals are on the right. lol

You know you don't want to get rid of the piano. :)

What if you meet a hot woman that wants to play for you before hanky panky time?!

You know you want to keep that piano. :)

I've never played it...but just listening to the beginning I WANT to learn THAT SONG! That is a fine, great song.

One (single) great thing about being old but still able and not working outside the home is I can still learn different songs on the piano!

I've learned some of Adele's stuff...but unless you sing with it, it just sounds weird. I can't hit those way high notes like she does after hitting the lows...but I still love her music.

I wish I knew how to play piano/keyboard.
    But I don't.

Hell, I don't know how to play shit except for a few things I forgot on 6 string guitar (acoustic) and some simple shit on drums.

Of course, that doesn't mean I can't make some weird shit on my comp using samples that I torture, then sequence or whatever.

I have this cousin with 2 degrees in piano - one bachelor's in music, minoring in piano specifically and a master's in piano performance - which she did nothing with btw. lol Well, she called herself composing some stuff, but it really didn't sell. She plays well, but she was never content to do what she did well...

Anyway, my point for even bringing her up was that she taught herself classical guitar. OH. MY. GOD. She was soooo good on that guitar it would almost make me cry. She could have made some kind of living at least for a while doing that, but noooooo. (She doesn't have any sense.)

Listening and watching classical guitar is The Shit. When I was young(er) if I had ever met a man that could play classical guitar (the Spanish sounding stuff especially) I would have jumped his bones. plain and simple...jumped them hard.

i used to be able to sing everything from baritone up to mid- soprano, with only a teeny tiny break. Navy yelling broke that. now i have to transpose the notes, and either sing a harmony to the melody (which, as an alto, of course im used to) or i have to go up/ down an octave. it takes some extra effort to make my singing sound good, but honestly, no one listens to me anymore anyway. i used to be the type of singer that could modulate between two "stronger" singers and blend their voices.

all my stinky/ dirty boys are in the shower. im ignoring the screaming, and the laughter. mom will be standing by with a towel, thats it. i got a fair amount done in the front yard. in the morning will douse the walkway weeds ( and a few other areas) with an organic weed killer, and follow with weed fabric/ cardboard, and then new mulch. old mulch is raked into the growing beds already. im supposed to have the yard 75% weed free and "landscaped" by the 5th. and while it will likely be a rental eventually, and therefore still my "problem" i am already thinking of where in the mountains i want to move to. i will find a way to fucking garden, i am sick to death of neighbors (my immediate neighbors are fine, its still just that one asshole who thinks my yard is his business.)

my yard is awesome. i am eating a cucumber (sliced, with itallian dressing) had a zucchini day before yesterday. i have a corn plant with tassels... a good sign. my cilantro bolted, onions set seeds. flax maturing/drying. i have baby tomatoes on at least 3 plants, plus flowers on others. new squash blossoms on some heirlooms. a few string beans. couple more artichokes. ground cherries are growing, but not near ripe yet. tomatillos growing, i saw flowers, but havent spotted the fruit yet. amaranth is growing like crazy. morning glory should open its bloom tomorrow, feel like ive been waiting forever for that. all the yarrow is happy. got a couple of peas. its beautiful.

i need to be in a place where i either have no neighbors, or the neighbors appreciate my slightly eccentric yard.
