The meme above about Yemen is a good example of the state sanctioned atrocities occuring all the time, but have fun believing your country's violence is moral because it is state sanctioned.

 

So on another note has anyone seen all the internet venom directed at Ariana Grande today?

It actually deeply disturbs me. Instead of showing support for her and her fans in a difficult time, people are spewing vile hatred at her because she said she hated America two years ago....which was a remark she made over donuts, some kind of commentary about how Americans eat too much. I don't really know or care. And apparently someone photoshopped a picture of her wiping her butt with the American flag, which you know really made the Toby Keith fans rabid.

The self centeredness of blind American patriotism really knows no bounds.
its just weird, like they're blaming her somehow or saying she deserves it

 

I'd never heard of her until this happened, and so I checked out a couple of her songs on YouTube, not for me.

She's cancelled her shows in London though, and god knows how she will ever perform again knowing this has happened, she's just a young woman.

Must have been hard enough for the Eagles of Death Metal to play again. She's bound to be pretty traumatised by all this.

just thought you folks might want to know how other countries are reporting this ....so even today it was still top spot on my own local news...

seems like your police are doing a good job finding linked people and probably even stopped a second or third bomb with the stuff (and people) they found in their raids

 

In the NW spiff we have seen nothing quite like it, looks like they are demolishing a cell.. arrests all over the place, armed police and bomb disposal popping up all over. But yes, it's good they are acting quick, obviously preventing something they know about..
