The Perfect Woman

I would have to say Hope Sandoval, circa 1994, from the 90s dream pop duo Mazzy Star, is the perfect woman, physically speaking. She pretty much summed up what I find physically attractive in a woman. She was (and still is) petite, feminine, and exudes sex appeal. Plus she is super shy and socially awkward, which adds to her appeal. She was born and raised in LA by Mexican-American parents. In 2017, she is nearly 51 years old, but still looks good for her age. Plus her voice is incredible.

She released an album last year under her real name Hope Sandeval and the Warm Inventions, heard some of it on the radio, sounded good.

Kurt Vile appeared on one of the songs.

 

Conan O'Brien on the other hand is a prime example of why gingers creep me out

How did I miss them in the 90s? I recognize the song in the video but just as something i've heard in passing here and there

I really like "fade into you", but it just seems like a rip off of "knockin' on heaven's door". Same thing with "nothin's gonna hurt you baby"(sp?) by cigarettes after sex

 

Doesnt matter how talented they are, its just about the songs in the end, the number of hits


Joss stone my favourite female singer from the last decade, very talented, but didnt really have many good original songs though, sang too many covers, so wasnt really all that successful


Bonnie Tyler on the other hand only needed one awesome song and everybody knows her name

 

Song in the op is awesome, and she does look good. I also like this song she featured on for Massive Attack.




The lyrics are pretty interesting, I got the impression of the vibe as some response capturing the odd transition of the buddening dubstep scene and things like Ketamine and Meow Meow (Mephedrone) becoming quite prevalent at the time, but a remaining connection to Ecstasy and the associated culture. It also speaks on a more personal level as well.

There is no perfect woman out there. Time to stop putting them on the pedestal and worshiping them. Guilty as charged though. When will we learn?
