    8am.

I've had a few slices of left over pizza and I have a steak defrosting in the fridge and I feel very hungry and I think I want to eat it too.

fixed a big can of soup, now I'm sleepy and stuffed. Too full to go to bed, so I'll fall asleep in my computer chair like usual.

Did some cleaning and laundry and I am getting ready to meet a friend for dinner. This is the one I had to cancel before so I am treating her to her favourite restaurant to make up for it. Bonus we do not clean up and no dishes. :)

I went outside this beautiful afternoon and mostly stood around. I don't have much energy as I'm still battling these ear infections and trying to regain strength after a stomach episode yesterday.

I even fixed a little dinner for me and hubby.

I have been feeling so down lately--stuck in a rut and just generally unhappy. Not sure what has changed, and I hope it is just the late winter blues.

    It's another gorgeous, breezy, day.

We've had so many good days for kite flying...I never see kids do that anymore.

not a good kite day here, wont have those til maybe april .. I buy them sometimes and they dont last long. not the cheep ones anyways. I usually just tie them down after all the string is gone. eventually hours and hours later the wind kills them..

i don't know how the tradition started, but every time there's any wind, this happens on one particular beach on presque isle:

i almost never see regular kites anywhere else. kite surfing is getting pretty big around here though. i'd like to try it myself, but i know i wouldn't do it enough to justify the cost of buying the equipment, and i don't know any of the kite surfers to ask them to let me borrow their stuff.

I live near Portland. We have a Goth Fly A Kite event at a state park by the ocean. I've never been, but I've seen pictures and a lot of the kites are homemade, and the kids put on their dandiest goth-wear. I hear it's a lot of fun.

    My new glue gun works.

These seed pods are naturally pink!

That's a little faerie door that my daughter gave me a few years ago.

Very creative, I’ve got a million of those in my yard and never made the connection between helicopter seedpods (or what we used to call whirligigs as kids)
and how similar they look like the wings of a dragonfly

    I know!

Kids are funny. My grandkids, as preschoolers, named those "ducks". The Sweet Gum Balls, they named "poonkalas".
