In English English rather than American English, the word 'gotten' is very rarely used. 'Should have got' is perfectly acceptable.

One that comes up over and again is the who or whom question.

'The one it went to' or 'the one to whom it went'. Number 2 is the proper form.

Yes very true! I guess I don't pay a lot of attention to my grammar when writing on forums because it's so casual. However, an essay is another story lol.
