I'm in the Philadelphia area and if anyone else is from around here, you'll agree that it's getting a little too cold for being barefoot 24/7. One thing I realized I've been doing since I was about 10 is never wearing shoes or socks indoors, no matter what the weather is like. In my own house, that's a given. But I also almost always take off my shoes AND socks whenever I get to a friend's place when it's cold out. Does anyone else do the same?
I am always barefoot when I'm at home as I rarely wear any socks. When I get inside my shoes or flip flops come off, if I'm wearing any that is. If I happen to be visiting someone I usually keep my shoes on, though if they ask me to remove my shoes, then I'm barefoot. So, I don't have any problems with me being barefoot in a friend's place.
I'm generally barefoot around the house, although I wear socks quite a bit, bu tI get quite hot, so the socks may find themselves being cast off. but when you're barefoot indoors, you can feel the carpet, and carpet is a good thing to be barefoot on. Put it this way, I'd much rather my feet be touchin gcarpet than the sweaty insole of a shoe.
When I am at home I never wear shoes or socks. Just love the feel of the floor under my bare feet. I wish I could convince the wife to do this as she has phenominally beautiful feet but will wear flip flops mostly or these huge magnetic exercise shoes.
I always go barefoot in my dorm at school. The floor is a little hard, and the carpet isn't that soft, but it beats shoes and socks any day.
i use to go barefoot all around campus till they made a rule about it in the cafe now its winter and i still make the hop to classes barefoot some times, if not i still only wear my birkenstocks
I go barefoot as much as i can, and when it gets cold, I only go out like that when its sem-warm out. But during school if I'm inside and stuff, I usually go barefoot.
Here is a pic of the wife. Don't know what you all will think but I think her feet are amazing. One of the reasons I married her.
I go barefoot as much as possible, but it's really cold outside now, and will be for next few months, unfortunately. Now I'm barefoot only at home.
love beeing bare foot... the only problem is i always end up getting a cold!! lol..so this winter i pledged to myself that i shall wear slippers and stay away from cold! ..damn cold still caught on... so back to barefeet. am always barefeet at home[winter/summer]..or the lawn. and in extreme caseson the road outside the house... but not beyond that coz indian roads are very dirty.[cow crap and what not!!] oohhh... and the maan with the wifey feet photo.... nice feeett
Squeaky, you should know that you do not "catch cold" because the temperature is cold. That has very little at all to do with getting the illness we call "the cold." It's all about germs. It happens a lot in the winter, because keeping the heat in involves closing windows, eliminating fresh air, staying in enclosed spaces sharing more of each other's breath than we normally do when a good portion of our days may be spent outside. Cold temps do not bring with them "the cold." You should feel free to go barefoot as much as you like and not worry that that is going to make you get sick. -Jeffrey
Shark, thanks for posting the pic of your wife's cute feet! I can see why you like them -- they're very attractive feet! -Jeffrey
I always go barefoot at home and usually only wear sandals if I go somewhere. I just came in from outside(barefoot) and right now there's about 3 inches of snow on the ground. I have a friend whose mother always yells at me to put on some socks, I never do though. I walked over to her house yesterday in the snow wearing sandals. I only ever wear shoes at work with it's stupid rules.
I loooooove being barefoot...indoors..all the time and outdoors...depends! During my time in Indiana (this past september. Shannon Hoon's Vigil) I spent most of my time just walking barefoot! Loved it! ~Fer~:H
I live in the arctic and I normally barefoot year round indoors. And 24/7 outdoors during the summer. In the winter I ware warm arctic winter boots with no socks outdoors so when I go in doors I take my boots off every where and go barefoot indoors. In the spring and fall I ware shoes and socks out doors but remove booth my shoes and socks when I go indoors at home, work or any place that does not allow shoes to keep thei floors clean of mud or snow and go barefoot all the time.
