The True Meaning Of Christmas

the true meaning of midwinter's eve goes back many thousands of years before christ, let alone modern consumer marketing.
to a time before refrigeration, warehousing and transportation infrastructure.
under those conditions, getting enough to eat in the middle of the season (in the northern hemisphere) when little grows or can be harvested,
that was the real miracle of the season.

christianity came along and exploited that.
though the 25th of the tenth month
is more likely the real day for christians,
then of the twelfth.

 

The true meaning of Christmas to me is just saying a silent prayer to myself Christmas morning and watching "It's a Wonderful Life" once a year. Yeah I buy presents for the family or whatever, but it comes down to your own faith and what it means to you.

It should not be forgotten of course the December was historically the tenth month. That's how it got it's name. Prior to 1752, New Year's Day, at least in England, was March 25th.

 

I think we should all be loving and caring and try to be here for each other. This is an aweful world we live in... We dont need anymore hatred and hardache.... What we need is love and compassion.....

People have been mean to me all my life and its hard but I still love and show kindness to people.... I take it as most people are hurting and sad so they have to take that anger out by being mean and the worst thing you can do to them is be mean back,it only makes it worse.....

The true meaning of Christmas is having enough booze to get through it unscathed. And I'm not even a big drinker. Well, I am at this time of year.

 

being able to forget how much people hate each other when they take a break from demanding you hate them.

its actually, when humans don't do so damd many stupid human tricks.
some years you'd never know it though.

some years they try to be decent all the time,
and some years they don't even try to be now.

the true meaning is not to love what you believe,
but to not hate someone else for what they do.

of course, if what they believe is hating logic,

i've been spared most of it most of my life.
