damn that is worse than i had imagined!!! Im glad he got out okay!!! i had my first car accident today. that was scary shit. i am okay though. totalled the car though...
I was in an accident today, too! not NEARLY as bad as that, though -- good to hear he got out in time ( could this have been the work of terrorists ? hmmmmm??)
yeah one night my neighbours car caught fire just after he parked it out the front, and it ignited another 2 cars. Something to do with the electricals apparently.. I'm glad your husband was not harmed..
When I was on a trip from Florida to Vermont this summer - I saw the exact same thing happen to a Tractor Trailer while driving through South Carolina. We were stopped for miles and the smoke was amazing. When I finally got past it, it looked burnt up pretty much like your husbands truck. It was actually kinda funny as there were like 20 other tractor trailers pulled over to the side and all the drivers were standing around this one guy sitting on the curb shaking his head whom I gathered was the driver. Trucker pitty session I guess. Glad your husband is okay. Hell makes for a good story. Shit, my truck leaks oil - wonder If I'm next
Oh yes, I forgot in my earlier posts, but I agree with everyone who said you should report this to the manufacturer and probably a lawyer... in other posts about a bug found in the icecream or stepping on a piece of glass barefoot I've argued against reporting such incidents, let alone suing, but that's just 'cause I don't like troublemakers over small stuff... this here's serious stuff....
There are too many factory wiring defects in later day vehicles. If that wasn't bad enough, recalls/lack of are nothing more than a sick joke... Sue the bastards!
I am glad to hear that you husband is okay. and yes I have had my car burst into flames. it was not fun. my boyfriend ( at the time) was fucking around with my battery and he had a wrench in his hand and he had touched it to the negative or positive wire and a flame started them to make matters worse I had an oil leak and my entire engine caught on fire. it sucked. I had grabbed a few handfulls of snow and put it on my engine. as soon as the engine cooled off I went to see if it would start up and amazingly it did.
You sure you two werent just getting it on in the back seat and caused this? wow. One of my family's cars started to smoke real bad once in the freeway, and then flames started coming out from under the hood-we got out and started running -that was exciting-a trucker gave us a ride into town. Glad your hubby's ok.
That's the one. Did you see it? It's weird. Last night we went outside and there was no truck in the driveway. I can't believe it's gone. My husband LOVED that truck. He was going to re-build the engine and make it last for another 10 years. The mechanic does think it was an electrical fire. There isn't much we can do about that considering the truck was almost 11 years old. The insurance company said they should have things settled by the middle of next week. We are going to wait for things to settle and then go look at vehicles. Last night Bill found two Land Cruisers that he wants to look at. Anyone know anything about Land Cruisers? Thank you Everyone for your sweet thoughts. After the "fire" has settled I have to admit I'm a bit un-nerved. The thought of anything happening to my husband just makes me sick inside.
At the radio station, we always hear calls on the scanner about a vehicle fire somewhere, that always turns out to be someone over heating.. Yesterday, I hear a call about a vehicle fire at (enter address here).. We all in the traffic room go, "Yay! You're supposed to put antifreeze in this time of year!".. Then we hear over the scanner "This one is fully involved!" So we are like "Oh shit!!" We start reporting the fire, our mobile unit showed up (White Rav 4 with WHP 580 on it).. She said that the street was closed in the Southbound lanes. I get on the phone with our TV station (Channel 21) and give the news to their traffic guy. We're all thinking "Man it sucks to be that dude!".. I can't beleive it was your car!! I'll have to look.. We might have tape of one of the traffic reports with your car in it at the station..
Bill said he could smell antifreeze when he first started noticing something was wrong. He thought it was the car infront of him that stank. He keeps up with all that so he knew there was no problem with it being low. They were saying on ABC27 that it was engulfed. Right now it's sitting behind the garage being packed with snow.
wow...i am sorry...and it looks really really bad. you both were really lucky and prolly now appreciate one another and life that much more...wow... no car has caught on fire for me...but my best friends car caught on fire on her way to get her driver's license.
Thank you Marie. I have been hugging him and kissing his cheeks. This morning I made a big breakfast and told him I am so grateful he is with us this morning. Our life could of easily have been altered within seconds. That's horrible about your friend. Was she hurt other than being disappointed about her license?
Wow I can't believe that happened. I am glad he is okay though. Finding a new car shouldn't be a problem.
lol a funny story here. One of my freinds well his uncle is homosexual and went on jerry springer a few years ago and confessed his love to some guy. A few days later BOOM the gay man was dead in his car.
