As others have stated, it varies from relationship to relationship. I'm not one to be fussy about wanting to wait vs not wanting to, though i generally try to get at least something done to gauge their aptitude/stature because shitty sex with an unsatisfying partner is something that will kill an infatuation faster than cats on tuna for me.
My current, and longest relationship he actually insisted we wait till my birthday. A total of two weeks from when we got together.
