he said he said. still a human. all three of them. some spirit thing may have chosen the 23rd return of adam to be channeled by. but really, its still a story written by humans. what you're denying is the lack of evidence linking your manifestation to your god. this jesus of nazareth may have been a great guy and all that, with a bunch weird sounding things about his birth the way it was written and translated, but still human and nothing infallible has ever taking physical form, other then in the sense that a mineral is a mineral. people can and do tell wonderful stories, but they're still people telling stories. and wonderful nonphyisical things can concretely exist. but the claim that these stories correspond to whatever nonphysical things there might be, is unsupported. there is only a wish some people share, to claim such a connection.

a book is a book. human ink on human paper. not the living anything of anything.

of gods there might be one or many. no book you hold is the work of any. every word you see or hear, is the word of man, that much is clear.

all flavors of cristianity, or any other brand name belief, are cults, by any way you choose define the term.

gods may be real, or not, but a book is still a book, not a god, or even the eye or mind of its writers.

if some people want to have only one dream, that's fine, for them, but the rest of us, live in a universe, that's a little bit wider then that.

    To each his own.

They aren't raping people, attacking children or killing anyone...so why be rude to them because they hand you a pamphlet? Just smile, take the darn thing and go on about your business.

To brag about how rude you can be to someone that is not harming anyone or anything,....what does that say about you?

My understanding is that the gospels weren't written down until decades after Jesus' death, and that no one is quite sure who the authors were. They could have been written by someone who didn't know Jesus personally. [IMG]

once upon a time, there was a collection of correspondence, between monastic scholars, attempting to determine, the best story or stories,
that would induce people to be considerate of each other, and of the world around them.
their files, or a copy of them, were sealed in clay vessels stored in a cave, for safe keeping.
when discovered in our own age, these crumbling parchments have become known as the dead sea scrolls.

it is entirely possible, that every event and personality, in the 'gospels' was written BEFORE any of the personalities in them, were even born.

the history and possible history of these writings is a subject in itself. what evidence has been discovered and analyzed still leaves a great deal to speculation.
and of course, there are vested interest, so called 'christian' interests, in keeping it that way.

before or after, and all the epic things good and bad both, this book, collection of books compiled into one, may have been influential in bringing to pass,
it remains a book, however well intentioned its authors.

a book written by human, not godly, hands.

i would not however, label robbing someone of thinking their own thoughts, by demanding their attention, and if they've stopped doing this, good for them, and i know some of them are kind enough not to, entirely all that harmless. neither of course, would i label j.w.'s, as being enterly alone in doing so. nor is it even unique to such prostituters of their beliefs.

and prostilatizing IS the prostituting of beliefs.
