Weed, for him isn't good for him. So, he tells us he doesn't use it. But, sometimes I think he is lying. I have nothing against weed. It's just, like I said it's not specifically good for him. If he was fine with weed I wouldn't care if he used it, but he becomes way worse when he uses weed or drinks. So, it's best for him to ignore it.
He is a big guy. Over 6 feet, he is big. So, I can see him as a trucker. I don't think he would like that joke, though. Lol! I think it would be so cool if he was a hustler, and would go from job to job because things get boring for him. Because he is still working. Just not the same job. But, dude... it's not like that for us. He just watches movies, plays video games, or is surfing the Internet. He is not a hustler at all. Lol! He barely raps too. Unless he is angry and making a "all women are bitches and hoes" song. Yea, okay... no. If you're going to use your hobby for that I rather you play video games.
He does complain about a lot of physical ailments that he has. But, I don't know... sometimes I think he uses that has a crutch. For example, once he didn't want to do a house chore because his stomach hurt. It was one house chore. And it's a stomachache, come on now. Granted, if I think he is bad with not working he is way worse about doing house chores. He would never do that. Never! Lol! But, I do know how much it sucks being very tired during the day. It's almost painful. I've experienced some major fatigue and it's not fun at all. So, I'll let him know. I also heard Maca is really good for energy.
Oh, so you live on a farm? I think I get your post now. I wasn't sure why you were talking about goats all of a sudden, but now it makes sense a little bit more.
There are magazines that specialize in self employment...work from home on the computer. He can start making pies, cookies, or pizza. He can cut wood or cut lawns. He can paint houses. He can play guitar. there are lots of options. If you become too frustrated with the matter, get a hold of me. I have a lot of innovative ideas.
So what do you think your teaching him? What im saying, is in answer to your question! Teach him a lesson, he is behaving like a child, treat him like one! My kids are now in their 30s, you obviously need to go back to basics with the free loader! Tsk!
Those ideas mean red tape to go through, except the guitar one, if you mean as a busking. If your state has no law against the busking thing, and you really knew how to let it riff like the guy with the electric guitar in Them Bones by Alice In Chains, then you could draw in money. It is real crazy red tape to go through just to start a lemonade stand. I think from the description of the guy the guy is anti-red tape and anti-hard work (applies for the wood cut and lawn cut -- because it means the burden of the heat since a lawn cutter has to work through summer heat). When you find a real simple business to start, the next thing to tackle is the advertisement angle. If you are smart as me you'd do just enough marketing first, to get an idea of how many prospects would be interested in your services, products, etc. while it is still just an idea. This way you dont jump the gun and pay all that money on what the business requires you to use or get. Same for jumping the gun and paying for advertisement when it turns out only 5 people were interested in the area of your maybe costly advertisement. If I ever do go with my special lecture for money idea, I'll just write on some post-its my short to the point ad, and go walk around putting them on front doors. I'll only write them out 10 per day, then by the end of the week I'll have about 60 of 'em ready. But I will only take 10-15 to go post on doors in different areas by class, prolly every other day. Why? I know better than putting them all in one area. This is so cheap that I can skip doing marketing. My business only requires my mouth and my place or their place. I lean towards using my place because it is nice and safe, and I know to sanitize the places in it after people come over with who knows what germs.

My Mom, her husband and my Grandparents live on a slightly more than 18 acre 'hobby farm' that is a working farm. I help out for some perks, enjoyment, meat (a perk), dinner and hanging out. I live in a house that my mom and stepdad own and pay them more than they are willing to let me work off. Honestly they don't make enough off the goats to cover that expense. Farming is hard work and it's amazing food is so cheap. I'd bet it's because so much could be imported from Mexico cheaper. That and mega farms that do not care about how they treat animals or what you ingest.
The thing is though if these values aren't instilled as a kid you get an adult that just likes to sponge off of others. I have younger siblings than me that grew up under different rules that are a great example of this. Can I ask, how does your boyfriend complement your personality that makes you stay?
Well, not knowing your friend's case at all here... are you sure there isn't some deeply hidden medical issue here holding him back? Possibly something neurological, like AS, which is rather difficult to spot? How are his people skills? If those are poor, that will rule out anything that involves being a social butterfly, like sales jobs, and he might feel embarrassed having to try something that would put him to embarrassing situations. What about the experiences from the jobs he has had in the past? Did something unpleasant happen that would've destroyed his morale and created a mental block? If he's been abused by a boss or co-workers in the past in a toxic environment, I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to go back to that. Your mental health is not worth losing for 6 bucks per hour. As a quick fix, something driving related might not be such a bad idea. Moving company perhaps, hauling other people's shit from point A to point B? Very simple concept and all you need is a driver's license and some muscle to lift things. Or maybe couriering for a courier service. But if your friend doesn't get better, re-consider the possibility that there might be something wrong with him after all, and he might seriously need to talk about it with someone. But don't kick him out to the streets. I don't know anyone who would've been cured like that. Usually homelessness will just make your problems worse.
Your never going to listen are you? Looks like a long thread this, but almost half of it, is you not wanting advice anyway! So if he is so bad, why bother asking?
The whole relationship sounds dysfunctional to me. Like I said, you can't change a man. If he doesn't want to work, then there isn't really anything you can do to make him change his ways. He needs to come to that conclusion himself.
i don't. not for its own sake. an ounce of consideration is worth a ton of productivity. but i do socio-politically encourage people to find harmless ways to reduce their dependence on other humans. people need to realize self esteem doesn't come from someone else, it comes from being considerate in all ways, and yes, that does also include reducing your burden on other people. (and thoughtless is just as much a burden on everyone who is touched by it, as living individually off of them would be. as for welfare though, that's what governments are FOR. that and to keep people from screwing up everything)
