Poor bird, talk about lunchbag let down.

We are eating our cherry tomatoes out of the garden now but by regular ones are not ready yet. Plants are loaded and the fruit is still growing so that is a good sign.

 

i like tomato sandwiches

gotta be toasted though....and no salt just fresh ground pepper

 

I like tomato on my bologna sammich .. but not all the time.

 

Are the grandkids vegetarians on their own or because the parents don't give them meat?

I don't clean until late everything is in its place. Although I may have to sweep the storage room soon. Can't go in there without stepping on something too small to see but big enough to hurt my barefoot.

 

I put an ad for four free roosters....I stopped short at saying they are on deathrow

 

Is there a difference in cooking or taste between hens and roosters?

 

Is it getting enough sun?

One of mine wasn't doing well either, and I had to move it a bit, so it could get more sun.

 

from what ive seen rooster have less meat

i used to work for some chinese people that would leave rooster hanging in the kitchen...they looked like they starved...they would cook the roosters on special occasions

 

originally both parents were vegetarian so all 3 kids were also raised veggie.......parents split up and mom stated eating meat....grandson will eat meat on pizza but nothing like a steak or hot dog....both grand daughters are still hardcore veggies...

roosters and hens taste the same but after a rooster gets past 12-14 weeks they get tough and need to be stewed...other people told me that and it could be completely wrong as I don't eat my own birds

and the effing roosters escaped again yesterday so I now only have 2 captured and 2 nore to grab off the stoop tonight when I can sneak up on them....you would be surprised at how scrappy they are
