One man lost three sisters and his 8 year old daughter - her name was Huda. She and her family were returning home from a family visit and were killed as they were waiting for a cab outside the airport. Her aunts were Kermime, 24; Zehra, 16; and Meryem, 14. Fifteen feet away stood their grandfather. He tried to save them but one of them was already dead and the other 3 died in the hospital. The grandmother of the family and two more daughters were also injured. http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/30/europe/istanbul-terror-attack-victims/index.html

Here’s the latest from CNN ISIS leadership involved in Istanbul attack planning Istanbul (CNN)Turkish officials have strong evidence that ISIS leadership was involved in the planning of the Istanbul airport terrorist attack, a senior government source told CNN on Thursday. Officials believe the men -- identified by state media as being from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan -- entered Turkey about a month ago from the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa in Syria, bringing with them the suicide vests and bombs used in the attack, the source said. A female neighbor in the same building, who didn't want to disclose her name, said there was some smell of chemicals a couple of days ago from the apartment, prompting other neighbors to ask her whether there was a gas leak. http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/30/europe/turkey-istanbul-ataturk-airport-attack/ Hotwater
That wouldn't make it impossible or that unlikely. Just like from the west, IS sympathizers and participants come from these regions as well. Chechenia is one of those regions most known for it.
This victim story involves "rescuing" a son from ISIS. It makes me wonder if ISIS would be mad about this and hit the airport because of it. Dr. Fathi Bayoudh Dr. Fathi Bayoudh was on a mission to get his son back from ISIS. Instead, he was killed in the airport massacre that may have been planned by the terror group. Bayoudh, chief of pediatrics at Tunis Military Hospital and a medical school professor, was in "total despair" when he son Anwar went missing last year, according to longtime family friend Ali Gannoun, a professor at University of Montpellier in France. The son originally said he was was going to Switzerland for an internship -- and was taking his wife. But Anwar, who studied medicine for a time, contacted his family months later to say he had joined ISIS as a medic but wanted out, Gannoun said. "He was never in the front lines, never killed anybody," Gannoun said. Anwar's family paid smugglers to get the couple out of Iraq, according to Gannoun. They traveled through Syria and arrived in Turkey days before the slaughter at Ataturk airport. Bayoudh had traveled to Turkey in hopes facilitating his son's return. Turkish authorities had informed Bayoudh that Anwar and his wife were in the custody of security forces near Turkish-Syria border, according to an official with Turkey's Foreign Ministry. The young man had spent three months in ISIS-controlled territory in Iraq or Syria but was now safe, the official said. The doctor called his wife with the good news. Bayoudh was picking her up at the airport the day of the attacks. "You died as a hero, Fethi, and you left as a martyr," Gannoun wrote on his Facebook page. "You managed to recover your kid. He will live his freedom without you, but he will still be the son of a great man, an exceptional father and an outstanding physician." Now, arrangements were being made to turn the son over to Tunisian authorities. It was unclear whether his father's body would travel back with him. "What you did is beyond love," Gannoun wrote. "We will remember your endless patience, your legendary determination and courage lacking in many of us." http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/30/europe/istanbul-terror-attack-victims/index.html
Not true. Turkey is not 'moderate' by any means as its a Islamic country that is led by Erdagon who is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Isis attack anyone and everyone that is an actual Muslim and are believed to be a organisation that are 'hired' to kill Muslims and to destroy the image of Islam by many Muslims, especially in the Middle East. Attacks like this happen in the Muslim countries far more in the Middle East than in the west, and more Muslims are killed than people from any other faith. The reason why I'm making this point is to answer the question about 'why these attacks are not talked about as much as the Paris, Orlando or other western attacks?' I guess it would seem because this stuff happens regularly in the Middle East (so we're almost desensitised) where the security is not as good as it is in the west and the politicians and leaders are bribed rather doing the bribing like western leaders. But the people in those countries that suffer regular attacks feel that they have been neglected by everyone and that people think they're worth less than people who don't live in third world countries. Whether it is 'islamaphobia', or it's something less dramatic, one thing is for certain... Attacks like these don't happen very often yet in Turkey, especially Istanbul; yet the media coverage hasn't been the same as it has for the Paris, Brussels, and Orlando attacks.
Lol Isis claim every attack there is including lambs being slaughtered and cows being milked. The Orlando attacks had nothing to do with them but the morons went out and claimed it like its a billionaire owned football club claiming high profile transfers. That guy was homosexual and was known for regularly going to that bar and trying to pick up guys. But I guess when the media decide to make a story...
Not entirely true. Orlando, the culprit gave allegiance to Islamic state. Lot's of crazy people do crazy things for crazy reasons. I don't think people are numb to the state of the world. I believe people can do little actively about what goes on. Some people just seem numb about everything and live small voiced lives. Others want to do crazy things that will do more harm. Most people don't have backgrounds or educations that can come up with good actionable plans. I am not against Obama but he doesn't seem to do anything other than giving speeches regarding terrorism. Trump would let the military do whatever they want which is what Obama apparently tries to avoid. I do wonder how much the military would love to combat Russia in Syria, one way or another. Maybe Obama does more covertly than we know about and probably should do more. Cold wars can be won if kept cold. That's the hard part and a complicating factor when trying to deny terorrorists safe places. It's a philosophical cluster fuck either way no matter what anyone does. Young people are drawn to violent purpose. Old people love to lead them.
Thank you for the reply. The source for the shooter giving allegiance is not reliable in my opinion and possibly also taken out of context. I agree with the notion that crazy people do crazy things and I'll go one step further by saying almost anyone can be brainwashed in to doing such things in certain circumstances.Trump? No comment. A foreign military doing what they want in Syria? It's not a playground and they're going to compete with the Russians lol the Rebels need weapons and treatment not other countries coming in and making a huge mess of the situation by playing 'chess games'. Russia, Britain, Iran, And Saudi (soon the U.S.) are all dogs for their involvement, because they're only making things worse and they know it. The people need help, not rockets killing innocent women and children instead of the target; Isis and more importantly let's not forget, Bashar 'the dog' Assad.
odd i was talking to my friend at work "India" and how they hardly if ever have a terror attack and one happened today. India is my friend at work hes from India btw.
Yes they do matter, and it is horrible, but That's life I guess... Or we just don't do enough to help or support them. By that I mean there's not a significant public figure or voice to stand up for them in both the West and the East. I guess when there is someone, they're either villainised or snuffed out by the media.
