Trilogy Group Forums - an invitation to all

I've recently been made an admin at a friend's forum. The main focus of the forum is to help people out in the area of computers, the internet, and anything related to those fields. I just wanted to personally invite you all to come check it out. If you are needing any type of help we will do all that we can to make sure you don't leave without a fix for your problem. As an admin I'm doing my very best to make the forum a better place overall by adding categories that people are interested in, inviting knowledable members, and just helping people out. So far things are off to a good start and I know they will get even better. I hope to see a few hipforums faces over there. If you decide to show up you'll see that a few already are. I'm glad that you were able to make it Xaosflux. We're just getting started on things. In fact we are having a meeting tonight to discuss what we can do to make the forum a better place. I decided to register my Zer0_II name here and use it for now on instead of Shockw4ve. That's the screenname I use on Trilogy Forums also. I hope that's okay.

 

I just wanted to thank all the hipforum members who made there way over to the forum. Xaosflux and Trotsky311 are moderators there now and are doing a wonderful job also. Things are definately starting to look a lot better. Also big thanks to Xaosflux for adding the forum to Hipforum's related forums list. I really appreciate that. For those of you who decide to visit, you're not going to see all of the categories until you register. The reason for this is because we offer people free movies, games, music, and software and we try to keep it on the downlow. We also allow any member to request anything as needed, not to mention that we try to help anyone out with any type of computer/software/hardware issue they might be having. I hope to see more of you there in the future..

Yes unfortunately the server is down right now. I'm really hoping this doesn't discourage anyone from going there in the future, or cause anyone who is already a member to leave. It seems to be due to some type of hardware failure on the part of the host, but we aren't positive. The server has been down all day and it's beginning to really frustrate me. Hopefully this problem will be resolved soon. I wish that there was a way that we could let all our members know what is going on, but unfortunately since we don't have access to the database we can't send out any e-mails. At least the members of this forum will know what's up, and if you could please pass the word on to anyone you happen to know outside of this forum that goes there I would greatly appreciate it.

Yeah it's a shame that this had to happen when we were peaking. If this downtime continues I suppose that we'll have to end up switching hosts. The only problem with that is money. Ben (the main admin) doesn't have a credit card, and neither do I at the moment. We're going to need that in order to switch hosts. I suppose that we'll resolve the problem one way or another. Hopefully the host will just be able to clear this problem up and it won't continue to be a problem in the future.

 

Well thankfully the server is back up now. Hopefully it will remain up and we can figure out exactly what the problem was. If this continues to be a problem in the future we will most definately switch hosts.

Well the group has been down for some time now. We were nice enough to let people have access to the ftp server so that we could upload stuff for each other. Unfortunately someone leaked the url to one of the files on the server. I know this because the file was downloaded over 2,000 times and we only had about 250 members at the time. That caused us to exceed the monthly bandwidth allowance, so the account was suspended. It was supposed to be back up on March 1st. I talked to Ben, the main admin, and he told me that the site should be back up within 12 to 24 hours. That was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't heard from him since. So I'm just as much in the dark as everyone else as to what is going on. I will be sure to post here and let you all know whenever the site is back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Sorry to bring back this thread once again..but I just wanted to say that I doubt that Trilogy Group will ever be back up again. I haven't heard from my partner Ben in a couple of months now, which is very odd considering that I've known him for about 3 years now. If anyone is interested in starting a forum which would be similar, but of course have a different name please let me know somehow. You can either post in this thread, PM me, e-mail me, or IM me. I'm pretty bored since I don't have any type of project to work on. The forum would basically be a very liberal computer help forum, which would mean that there wouldn't be any taboo subjects such as warez and other "illegal downloads".

I apologise for replying to such an ancient topic but I would like to tell everyone the website is back online and has been since June. We lost our hosting in March because of the bandwidth limit and we were suspended from the host. We had no backups so we started from scratch but the new website has alot more content than the old one did. We still have our forums and we still offer the free web proxy service. Sorry to all the members who lost their accounts but I would like to welcome you all back.
