I asked my friend, who has been in public schools for more than two decades in various roles, if any of this needs to concern the schools at all. In other words, are little kids mature enough to even know what their gender preference is? She said yes, she's seen kids as young as second grade clearly demonstrate that their physical gender does not fit them at all. Studies have shown that this behavior does not change as they get older unless they are bullied into conformity, which leads to life-long emotional problems. So yes, the schools have to deal with this.

 

I agree, but it doesn't need to be a battleground. Give them a gender neutral place to pee and change for gym and don't fight about it.

 

My granddaughter is finishing up 7th Grade. I talked to her about this on Saturday.

She said that she would not have a problem with a biologic birth boy, who identified as a girl, using the girls restroom with her and the rest of the girls.

Kids are much more cool with things than these old foggies that are raising hell are.

 

I could potentially understand young children being able to do it but honestly the older they got the more likely someone would try to take advantage of the idea. As an example I have personally known guys who pretend to be gay to see girls naked etc

 

That may take a little time and money, for building modifications.

In general, more privacy for all genders is going to make all this irrelevant in the long run.

Especially the younger ones, who have been indoctrinated very little by adults.

Reminds me of nude beaches in the Caribbean. Older American kids react to the situation much more than European kids of all ages, because the Americans have been taught that it's a big deal. European kids are quite apathetic about nudity.

 

Oklahoma sees the bathroom bills as a religious issue.
