Im kinda tired of the non-pc crowd or whatever you wanna call them playing the victim and acting so offended by the PC crowd for being offended. Yay, we're all offended by something, can we move on now?



Its just kinda ludicrous, like..youre bitching about how offended you are because other people are offended by you?

Political correctness is fascism disguised as manners

 

Political correctness has its place, up to a point. But it's gotten out of hand and we often feel like we're on thin ice worried about offending someone. People need to become less thin-skinned.

But Trump is so politically incorrect it's scary.

 

The "Eggshell" era has begun.

 

Political incorrectness is good if it's other than for the sake of simply appearing politically incorrect and getting a rise out of people. It's good to be politically incorrect if you're speaking truth and not simply trying to incite idiots, which is what Trump does. Trump is politically incorrect in an idiotic way.

 

Did anyone see the Daily Show earlier this week when Trevor Noah used sound bites to demonstrate that Trump is just the candidate that the GOP has been asking for----he is a Washington outsider, wants to build a wall around the Southern Border, wants to be tough on Muslims, is a business man with his own business, He wants to make America great again, etc. etc. He fits all the things they have been asking for!

It was pretty funny----but it was also pretty telling.

As he said, and I paraphrase a bit, 'Republicans, open your eyes!'

Political correctness refers to politics and other positions of authority - Donald Trump can call Mexicans rapists and talk about building a wall all day long but he isnt going to get the hispanic vote because of it. Politicians are politically correct because they have to pander to a variety of demographics.

In the life of the every day person it isnt really an issue of being politically correct. It is more about the delicate balancing act between your need to be an outspoken asshole and a desire to avoid hurting your neighbor's feelings.

If you choose the outspoken asshole route and offend someone, it doesnt mean your freedom of speech was taken away - even if there is a public outcry, even if some whiny douche goes to the media about it. Freedom of speech protects you from the government. It doesnt protect you from the reactions of those who hear your speech.

 

I agree sometimes being politically correct is very annoying and used to avoid sensitive issues or statements when it shouldn't be avoided. But it seems clear that this being PC thing is now overused, too much is called PC now. Someone's arguing for leaving a certain blatant offensive approach out: BAM! They have got to be political correct. It's usually not that simple. Some people that understandable dislike political correct behaviour seem also to be focussing on it too much because of it, and are now calling anything and anyone they can PC. Ridicilous and pointless.

Trying to keep track of all the shit that others can take as "offensive" gets very old after a while. Especially for me, an "old white man". Not a word can I say that some goof won't find "offensive" simply because it came from an "old white man".

What these fools seem to forget is that hating my words or hating me for just being an "old white man" is racism! It really is that simple. Hate is hate. No matter who you think you have a "right" to hate.

 

Maybe you're suffering from old white man syndrom and you just look at the world kind of distorted. I doubt everyone, or even the far majority, who dislikes you when you speak your mind does so because you're white. But I don't know you or your real life surroundings so hey, maybe you're right

 

The media attacks him while simultaneously giving him tons of publicity that plays into what his ego wants. It's all bullshit, and both sides in the argument are idiotic. The people attacking him are giving him exactly what he wants. He would be nothing without protesters showing up at his rallies and creating a stir. Talk about feeding the trolls. It's all noise, and everything I have heard out of Trump's mouth so far has been utter bullshit. People on both sides are getting riled up over nothing.
