I've got it! With all his anti-Muslim rhetoric, the countries of the Middle East should get together and say they won't sell oil to America if Trump is elected! Even if it's a bluff!

 

They already did it. The US capitalized on oil shale technology and managed to ride it out without hitting European style fuel prices. Production was so good that sales of middle eastern oil dropped. They're still feeling it today. Back in the 70s the US wasn't prepared for the OPEC embargo, a hostile economic tactic, basically extortion.

 

Maybe, but the implied threat of an all-out Middle East oil embargo would dissuade a lot of would-be Trump chumps. Then again, Trump could probably convince his followers that we don't need the Middle East anymore.

 

Actually Trump has already covered this. He thinks we should invade and steal their oil....

Overproduction did it. For a short while oil was actually plentiful enough to knock the wind from electric cars, which I think are the only kind of cars we should be driving. The US consumes a lot of oil, not just for fuel, but for all the plastics they are burying us in.

During most of this political season it seems like oil has taken a back seat as have many of the wedge issues. I barely hear the usual whining about abortion and such. I'm glad to see the economy getting more play, but I still don't hear any real solutions. I see another Hold Your Nose vote on the horizon.

 

I remember when he said that. Pure arrogance and gall. There's no way Washington would approve such a plan. Americans don't like losing sons and daughters to oil wars. But we do like cheap fuel, an issue that doesn't get nearly enough airplay. Gas prices always seem to go down as the presidential election nears no matter who's in office.

Trump's casino logic will ultimately betray him. The world already suspects the US of shady deals. Americans are always caught in the middle.

But you buy into a snake oil salesman who says he will build a wall and make Mexico pay for it , be the greatest jobs president that God ever created, deport the almost 11 million immigrants illegally living in the United States, save Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without cutting benefits, defund Planned Parenthood and yet take care of women, bar Syrian refugees from entering the country and kick out any who are already living here, and strengthen the military so that it's "so big and so strong and so great" that "nobody's going to mess with us." And he will pay for all this by imposing a tax rate of 10 - 15% on millionaires, a tax which has no loopholes.

Trump is one of the biggest scam artists in the world and the Trumpetes eat that shit up and think it's real.

 

I still find it perplexing that the democrats chose to run with 2 old white people. It seems like Obama would have made the development of a successor a top priority. They'd surely win with a "Wise Latina" instead of two old white people. I wonder if these odd estimates about turncoat democrats is just a misuse of the dramatically lower number of minority voters at all this time around. In 2008 and 2012 records were set for minority vote participation.

The real question for me though is where the fook is "The Clinton Machine"? Sure, Obama waxed them, but he had more popularity. And popularity often Trumps (pun) logic in politics. Face it, Hillary was more qualified in 2008. Oh well. So far the Clintons are using some of their old fashioned campaign strategies, like avoiding commoners and pissing off minority groups like BLM and LaRaza.

As for Trump I wonder if I am looking at Alexander the 6th. Today's speech in Arizona, where protesters illegally blocked a highway, was full of Trump being full of himself. It was a recap of his victories and only lip service to the problems. He had sheriff Joe sitting behind him, of course. His Mob name would be Baloney Joe for the diet he feeds prisoners. And through the speech Trump referred to his dealmakers as "killers" and suggested they would "go after" these businesses (like Carrier) who move operations to Mexico for a 35% tariff. He referred to Mexico as "Little China" for the economic impact potential it has on the US.

I think people should listen to what this guy actually says instead of shouting from the hills that he's Hitler, David Duke and Mussolini with a side of Hugh Hefner and Bobbie Brown. The character assassination is so loud you can barely hear him making a fool of himself. He says some seriously disturbing/stupid shit. I'm positive Trump will march us to war either overtly or covertly. He bragged about making the military into an even more bloated white elephant.

I don't think any democrats would jump ships to support someone with his attitude about our nation or the world. At least Hillary will bribe the radicals into leaving us alone (worked for Bill).

 

While I don't think he has a chance, I do think Bernie is right. At the rate automation is dissolving jobs from existence we will absolutely need a national safety net to avoid economically-driven famine and the variety of internal conflicts that run parallel when a nation starts to lose it. I personally think life on the dole would basically be a boring slow death. Which is why I only stayed in the Navy for 1 hitch. That was 4 long years as a government-owned slave. I feel sorry for teenagers who enlist today.

But of course presidents don't actually run anything. They simply say whatever their target audience wants to hear (all lies) to gain your support while they're campaigning. Once they're in office they simply get on TV and read off a teleprompter, and you're supposed to believe they're the person running the show. When do politicians ever stick to their promises? Almost never.

If Trump gets elected (or rather selected) as the next president, he will not build a wall, and he will not bring jobs back that have been sent to China. Anyone who believes this is naive at best, and downright ignorant at worst. If it's not in line with what the REAL controllers want, it simply is not going to happen. Bringing jobs back to America and ending illegal immigration is not in the cards among the ruling elite who are hell bent on destroying what's left of this country.

I have no doubt that the next president has already been chosen, and they simply put us through this phony debate leading up to elections to make us think we have a choice. I laugh at all the morons getting riled up who either LOVE Trump or HATE him. Both sides are completely moronic in my opinion. The people in power want this division. They want the masses polarized and arguing over this irrelevant, inane BULLSHIT!!

Regardless of who gets into office, nothing will change for the better. When has it ever? Things will keep progressing in the same direction as they always have while we keep losing more of our freedoms to this creeping fascism.

I said the same thing before Obama took office, and I was right. Obama is by far the most authoritarian, fascist puppet president this country has seen to date, and the next president, be it Clinton or Trump, will be even worse.
