Morning sex is great, but sometimes it's nice to just lay in bed and doze. I always know when my husband wants it in the morning, because he'll lay in bed next to me until I wake up. He's careful not to be the one to wake me though, because that will only make me grumpy.
I have slept on a futon for the last 45 years and they are incredibly comfortable to me. I think it is very possible that you were sleeping on a "cheap" one made of foam. Real futons are layered with felt and cotton or wool batting layers (many layers quilted together).
Since about 1970 I have mostly slept on a mattress on the floor, something I picked up from Hippie communes & crash pads in New Orleans. I don't sleep well with others and for all the years I was married, I had a foam mattress slid under our king size bed, which I would pull out and sleep on at the foot of the bed like a faithful dog. I used the bed for sex and would cuddle with the wife and doze but for serious sleep time I crawled down to the mattress. I happen to have a pic from when I got my new mattress and sent it to friends who have shared my bed (for a moment, not for sleeping any length of time)
I bought a new mattress set last year...queen bed...very high and also have a pillow top fitted cover. Quilts, and lots of pillows....I love my bed.
For about 10 years now I have slept on a bed a little larger than a twin. I basically abandoned the full size bed in my original bedroom here, which is now good since it has become Mama's potty chair's room. During the winter I use blankets as the bedspread and Brownie Brown sleeps Every Night with me. He is laying there as I type so I think he sleeps more with the blankets than with me. In the summer when I replace the blankets with a bed spread or (more likely) a nice sheet he isn't as gung ho to share my bed. Sleeping in a full sized bed alone got too much for me. I tried for several years not to be bothered by the "alone" part and discovered that sleeping in the size bed I use now solved that.
too damd big. wastes too much of the too little available space. but otherwise it makes a perfectly good place to sleep.
Mine is a foam piece of garbage!!!!! Sinks in,doesnt offer good support after awhile,etc...... I have been sleeping on the coach since I got this thing as I cant find anything AS GOOD AS WHAT I HAD FOR 20+ YEARS!!
my bed is regular height, but my bedroom windows tend to be low. the last place i lived, i could lie in bed and look out one of two different windows at different lake views. my current apartment actually has a floor length window in the bedroom, but i didn't want my bed right in front of it because the sidewalk goes right past it and i would feel weird if people could look in and see me sleep. beyond the sidewalk, the view is mostly just a couple cars and some trees anyway, so it's not as cool as looking out and watching the freighters on the lake was.
Hello, I'm too long, at least tonight. If I lay down I just fit between the boards at the top and the bottom of this bed. I can't stretch. But the blanket is long enough. I like blankets that are long enough, so that I can cover my feet and my ears at the same time . Regards Gyro
I'll have to pass. My bed is only 2 years old. According to the Mattress Giant ads, it has 6 more years of collecting dust mites & dead skin cells before it has to be replaced. I want to fill it up before getting rid of it.
You sound like my son! He is 6'4" and always has problems with a bed being too short or blankets long enough to cover him from neck to feet, or so he says. lol
Hello, my own bed is long enough and in this one, well, I can lie a bit diagonal and then it's fine for the next two or three days. Usually beds in hotels are long enough. I wonder what's wrong with this one. I mean the mattress seems to be of good quality, not too hard, not too soft. It's just 5 cm too short . Regards Gyro
