Pork and apples are the best. Pork has to be my favorite thing to slow cook. It's extraordinarily cheap where I live, so I can get a pack of boneless ribs for like $2-$3 and it's more than enough for just little old me. I love just putting it in with whatever my favorite sauce of the week is (which might happen to be apple sauce this week) and then eating it on top of some mashed potatoes and peas.

I'm so glad Fall is here. It's perfect weather for this kind of thing.

I actually made an apple version of pulled pork last week. I covered my pork roast in crabapple butter and threw I some onions, garlic and rosemary. I added water and cooked it until it fell apart esily and it was amazing.

    Ok,
7lb pork shoulder roast browned and in the crock along with 2 20 oz cans of crushed pineapple w/juice, 1 large, diced granny smith apple, 1 cup dark brown sugar, about 2 cups of diced celery, 3/4 cup soy sauce, 1 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 cup chopped dried cranberries.
now just gotta wait 6 hours
It's kind of a twist on a Hawaiian pork recipe the wife found.

    Wish me luck................ :chef:

Tea? Any particular kind or just black?
I've only ever used earl grey to poach chicken breast. Otherwise I've never used tea in cooking.

I forgot to mention to add about a half-3/4 cup of water to it so it don't burn right away

Ok, it's done and so far my 15 year old likes it.
served it with a baked tater and some green beans sauteed with bacon and onions

probably could/should have served it with rice instead, but whatever.................
