It looks as if you had an amazing birthday/solstice!!!! You must have had tons of fun and a very memorable time. Thanks for posting those pics... they're really cool. Peace, love, and freedom.
Thats really cool. My buddy had his first trip at stonehenge. You were at stonehenge, right? What does poi mean?
wow, beautiful. poi are cool. We used to make them at primary school (not the fire ones though poi are like squashed balls on the end of a string that you perform dances with. In NZ they are a part of Maori culture (for want of a better explantion) I don't know if they originated there though, or also in another culture(s). we would make the non-fire ones with a plastic shopping bags, a rubber band and wool. You cut a large circle out of one plastic bag, stuff it with other bags (or newspaper), tie a rubber band on the end to seal iit, then plait red, white and black wool into a looong plait, tie that on over the rubber band and there is your poi. ah, primary school memories
hehehe yea it was great fun. Yea poi origionated in the Maori cultur, poi is a maori word for Ball. Thats a new way of making poi using bags, sounds cool. when i make them i do sock poi, get a loooong sock put a tennis ball in the toe knott the sock to hold it in, knott the top of the sock for something to hold and voila!
Poi is a maori word for 'ball', but also applies to the art of practicing a traditional dance that involves balls.
