Don't sweat it. I think I believed the misinformation too quickly without looking at the bigger picture.
People are people no matter where you go. You still have your good and bad, no matter what. And nowadays the bad have a knack for striking out against the good. It sucks, but shit happens.
Odd how that vanished around the same time as Lifestyles that allowed for the majority of ones time to be spent Actually Parenting and not one working 2 shifts while additionally furthering one's own education outside the home, altogether away from the task of parenting isn't it? Meanwhile in Roseburg: http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2015/10/protesters_in_roseburg_declare.html Protesters declare their town an Obama Free Zone. The president was sure arrogant and short sighted to assume every community in this state would have his support to politicize a local tradgety.
^ Seems preposterous. How arrogant and short sighted to visit, right? The protestors however took the best possible time to confront the president with their message, and of course they had the best arguments too :
Just hours after the incident occurred, before the anyone knew the death and injured list, before they knew the shooter's name and motive, Obama was very quick to exploit the issue for a political agenda. I'll bet that because Oregon carried Obama in both elections, he probably thought he'd get more support and welcome. http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2015/10/obama_on_oregon_school_shootin_1.html Personally, I think some of these people have a valid argument: They don't want the president to stand upon the corpses of their murdered friends and family members to give a speech about gun control. Here's one victim who opted out of meeting one-on-one with the president: http://www.bizpacreview.com/2015/10/07/we-wont-be-props-oregon-shooting-victims-family-will-not-meet-with-obama-on-principle-260735
Machine guns at Walmart LOL. You can't buy machine guns at Walmart. They're heavily, heavily regulated, require permission from the federal government and an extensive background check that takes 6-9 months, and if you do get permission to buy one it'll cost about $20,000. You also can't buy one manufactured after 1986 so there's a limited supply. For the most part, machine gun ownership in the US is the realm of wealthy collectors. Walmart doesn't sell used guns, much less 30 year old guns that cost $20,000.
I'm not sure what posting a pic of some old antiquated ammo has to do with me replying to Asmo's post. Asmo was regurgitating some anti-gunner nonsense he/she heard and didn't know any better. I was explaining the reality - WalMart doesn't sell automatic weapons. But if it makes you feel better to post pictures old ammo, go right ahead. I have ammo a lot older than that.
Most 'Automatic' guns are actual semi auto, meaning only one shot per pull of the trigger. It automatically reloads not automatically fires. If you hold the trigger in after the shot, nothing happens. If you know what you are doing, then you could change that; but straight from the shelf, no
The issue seems to be that not everyone seems to know what they are doing, or happen to be so twisted that they simply aim to do damage. If everybody would be completely responsible with their guns and rights we wouldn't even be having these discussions. But it happens to be a big IF. Not everybody is responsible with their gun, wether it is semi or full automatic. Some people may be responsible with their gun when they use it themselves but it appears other people (often kids) can and will get to it. A big problem of course that is hard to deny.
I guess you didn't understand the part about it being almost impossible to get a fully automatic weapon. I think the above statement confirms southpaws contention that many complaining about guns have little actual knowledge about them.
You don't have to be a gun connousseur to recognize the fact that some people are irresponsible gun owners. You're arguing semantics, who cares if an autamatic is actually a semi autamatic? Someone could leave a .22 out in reach of a child and it still makes the gun owner irresponsible. Not sure how asmo is wrong just because he used the wrong term.
Ok I'll spell it out for you. It says automatic on the box. Do you think anyone mistakes "Automatic" with machine gun in this day and age? I think it's pretty obvious when a gun, or ammo for that matter, available to the public is called "automatic" it is referring to "semi-automatic" If it makes you feel better to point out the obvious " Wallmart doesn't sell machine guns" go right ahead, blather away about the obvious. If you have some valid point other than idiotic faux news sound-bite blathering-points feel free to post those too
