That’s true but only because we were double-dipping with the supermoon and a total lunar eclipse, but in fact if you just want to see a total lunar eclipse you only have to wait until January of 2018, rather than 2033. Hotwater
I saw it. It was creepy as hell. Stuff like this is usually exciting and I like to make moon water to collect the energy, as well as sit outside and watch it, but this one felt very "scurry back to your holes and batten down the hatches, little ants." I took a peek, did some tarot with the cats and then we all retired to bed. The neighbors were out in the yard in lawn chairs making a social event out of it, but all I could think was "nope" and I turned off all of my lights. I did not sleep well. Icky icky energy. Did not like.
MeAgain that is a great shot!! We did not get any personal shots that were decent at all but there are a few on the weather network of our area that are outstanding.
Thanks Heat. Here's a couple more, click to enlarge. [sharedmedia=gallery:images:153057] [sharedmedia=gallery:images:153058]
gf and i went out to the woods was a little rainy but the pines held it back cloudy and spooky she said she had fun
In the fullness of a bloody red clay moon , in that first moment I heard the wild snarling and the fight . Dog got a plossum . Yep , then plossum plays dead waited tries to run gits bits again plays dead still until I look again and assuredly , will see no bloody anything .
Meagain, you got some awesome photos there........My camera did weird things taking the photos from beginning of the eclipse to the end....ghostly photos...in one or two of them, it looks like 2 moons......I will post them all here in sequence...... I am glad i witnessd it, but i did not feel as comforted by the moon as usual last night.....I felt the interference.....and it felt very unsettling, as beautiful as it was.... .....so in a few replies....the dance of the eclipse...
Couldn't see it here, but right when it was at the height of it's red time Erin the crow was going nuts. Somehow they can tell.
I like the last one in the first series and the next to the last in the last series the best. You need to use a tripod and the timer on your camera, if it has one to stop the blurring. That's what I did. I also have a small telephoto lens built in. But you can get interesting results if you go with the flow. Some of yours have really nice colors. The shutter is staying open (I assume digital cameras have some kind of shutter) a long time to get enough light and when the camera moves the picture blurs. I used to have a Canon AE1 35 mm film camera that was great as I could set my lens opening and shutter speed to whatever I wanted. The digital camera I have now has one of those stupid viewing screens, which I hate, instead of the old look through view finder and it picks the shutter speed and aperture. It has stupid little icons for "night time", "beach", stuff like that. I also miss a cable release for the shutter.
